After losing to the Saints, and following today's results the pessimistic fans would see us 5th in the league. The optimistic fans will see us joint 3rd.

Ignoring the League Cup (as I do every year) we have the following 4 games

Sunderland away
Crystal palace home
Newcastle away
West Brom home

Sunderland are awful at the moment and providing they don't play a beachball up front I would say 3 points. On our current form CP should be another 3 points. The other two I see as potential banana skins on a par with the Southampton game.

I know we will have Suarez back but despite having a good start to the season we have not played well for 90 minutes in any of the games and some of the second half performances have been enough to bring on a heart attack.

We need 10 points from the next 4 games as after that we have Arsenal and Everton away in the next four.

I suspect the league will be between Arsenal/Chelsea and City with Utd/LFC/Spurs and possibly Everton fighting for 4th

This fits in with the four game block approach that is stickied. I'll merge the two <ok>

you don't update a table and graph only one game into a block of 4... the whole point is to do it once every 4 games.

what do you want?

0/12 points 25% of games in this block gone. max performance now 9/12 points....

Thought the intention was to do it after each game as the thread was about tracking progress or lack of it

So 10 points from 5. To stay on track for 2 points agame we need 6 from the next 3 games against Sunderland away, Palace at home and Newcastle away. All very winnable, but could easily struggle against Sunderland & Newcastle away. Sunderland under new management will be unknown and Newcastle are a bit like us, 1 week very good, next week very bad so depends which one of us and them turns up!

When do we have our good week?

Things are looking up this season!! I think since Jan we have looked like a team capable of out classing the lower league teams both home and away, however we did not fare to well against the top teams last season and I think it will be those games that decide if we finish in the top 4 this year.

disapointed that we didnt manage to beat swansea who have been beaten at home by both utd and Arsenal, Southampton are playing well and we had a bad day, it happens. Think our win over united has shown our intent this season but the best win so far was probably villa away as they have beaten both arsenal and city. We really need to make the most of the games before december as after that we play all the top teams away in a couple of months and even if we do well i expect we will still drop a fare few points.

10pts from block one.

3pts from block two with two games to go.

I'm still not updating anything until we get to 4 games gone...

draw, loss, win... only the next two games will decide is we steadied the ship.

quietly sitting 2nd in the league and no one is talking about us.

long may it continue. :)
