Papers to sell, I suppose. There's likely some truth in it. As I said here earlier, what kind of PL club actually puts out a job advert for a set piece coach?! Laughable. You'd not even see that at Forest Green Rovers.

Don't think the Saudi's get it. Staveley and Ghodoussi look like they were able to just put stuff into action; whatever happened in the aftermath of their lack of experience has seemingly led to a massive shift in process and has slowed us down far too much. We'll never know what's gone on, mind.
A bankruptcy court case that would have seen some shipping twat get her shares.

That the club have lost its progress and the fact that Eales is going. Mitchell going and the Ashworth carry on make us look like a shambles.

Basically making it look like we are not in a good state at board level:

Hard to argue really. Stagnation all over the place. Saudis need to carry the can.

A first domestic trophy in 70years, a 2nd Champions League qualification in 3years on the 9th highest PL transfer expenditure since 21/22 and current 9th highest wage bill, is actually quite a compelling argument for both progress and overachievement. Add to that, the fact that we have been able to increase our squad value to 6th highest in the Premier League means we have over-achieved both on and off the pitch.

Where we are lagging behind is growing our commercial income but with the restrictions of PSR, that will be a much slower process. If I was on the Board I would be pressing for a new commercial marketing and business development manager rather than another DOF, as it is clear that the numbers and performance show that we clearly have a really good handle on the player recruitment and on-field performance side of things.

Suspect PIF see the rise in club value from the £385Million when they bought it, to £815million today, as further evidence that the Board is not yet ready for a call to the Embassy in Istanbul either.

Yes I agree with all you say here. It’s Craig Hope saying those things not me.

I think it is odd that Mitchell came and went. Eales isn’t very well but should probably have had a replacement by now.

I don’t think we necessarily need a DoF personally. But it may work in some clubs.

Our scouting network definately needs more investment. That’s without saying.

Im happy with the progress the club have made. We are over achieving.

Yeah…… saved from certain relegation, 2 champions league finishes and a trophy. Stagnation all over ffs

In terms of transfers, sponsors, revenue streams, exec appointments, decision making (stadium?) and specifically over the past two years. Howe himself said they run the risk of being “stale”.

I was having a pop at @Roland Deschain but needed your original comment to put his into context.

If it makes you feel better:

Newcastle United Limited (Newcastle United) has filed its financial results for the 12 months ended 30 June 2024, reflecting a 28% increase in overall revenue.

Oh and in equally good news:

Commercial income increased £39.7m (90%) from £43.9m to £83.6m with growth in the club’s main commercial partnerships income from new and enhanced deals with Sela, Noon, Fenwick, InPost and Adidas all contributing to the rise in revenue. (this is a part of thew overall revenue increase from above)

Of course there are still more opportunities to monetize training kits, training ground and Stadium naming rights. I suspect we have to be a bigger global player to attract the training ground / kit sponsorship though. There's virtually no mention of Benton / Darsley Park in the media, so why would it be worth sponsoring for a commercial partner? (PIF excluded due to APT restrictions)

Craig Hopeless stirring the pot claiming we’re in “chaos” because Mitchell has been stood down and dealings are now directed at Howe Jr and Nickson.

Call me crazy but that just sounds like a well communicated handover?
