I can't see him making wholesale changes but I wouldn't be surprised to see us switch to a back 4 and move Alfie into midfield giving Richie a rest. We know it's his favoured formation so we might as well try it and it'd be good to have that extra attacker too.
I think Millwall will win it, 2/3-1/0! I think he has to make changes, Burnsie saying he’d like to see Doc in a more advanced roll, if Doc plays I think he’s in the last chance saloon! If he doesn’t do anything in these last few games, he won’t be getting a new contract, probably end up at Peterborough. I’d really like to see Doc back at what we saw last season, I just don’t see it though unfortunately.
Unless Doc gets that crick out of his neck and starts looking up and around he'll never improve. I've noticed recently even when he's coming on to the pitch as a sub he seems to have his head hunched down into his shoulders.
I have the same feeling, that he may well go to a back 4. I guess it depends on Coyle and whether being out, 2 games in a short period of time, he can go again?
But we've seen Doc in an advanced role last season and it didn't suit him so it was a strange suggestion I felt.
I think we might see Liam Walsh at least on the bench this afternoon, he was brought in on loan to play the defensive midfield role. So we may see Smallwood rested for a game, he looks a shoo-in for a new contract for next season.
I always thought he was advanced with Honeyman, like a 4-1-2-3 with them both winning the ball high up rather then a 4-2-3-1 which he’s being played in more this season. I remember how shocked Shrewsbury’s commentary was that he was being played as an attacking midfielder.
I wouldn't say he was as advanced last year as Honeyman but definitely more advanced than this season. He was always played more as a box to box with Honeyman more as a no.10 but it worked nicely. I don't really see what Doc has done to deserve a start though but I do want to see us playing more attacking football. We don't need to try and hold on for a draw/nick a goal as it's job completed and now it's about planning for next season
I think he’s just talking about seeing Doc getting the chances he took last season. I’d love to see him succeed, but I just don’t think he will!
There's been no mention of any injury. He must have really underwhelmed in training or had a fall out or something.
It's hard as a loanee when you come in on DD in Jan. He was always likely to be a stop gap anyway and you don't get much of a chance. It's a completely different situation to Allahyar as we knew we were signing him in the summer so we've been a lot more careful with him. Funnily enough, although he was abject against Derby, he's looked okay when he's come on in other games and could offer us something different.
Well, we had an Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman, maybe he wanted the full set? Ok, I know he's not really Welsh but he did come here from Swansea...
