yer spending far too much for where you are just now and no obvious way of getting the money back is more my point, ahm pure worried fur yeez big man....anyway, gotta go an dae stuff......to be continued Im sure

Uh oh, when timmy says we should be worried then we should be worried. They hivny steered us wrang in the past.

It wasn't the style of the football I was getting at. It's the poor signing policy that seems to still be in place at the club. I've no doubt that the likes of Miller and Daly will do a job for you but there must be plenty of young players out there who could do a job for you and have a sell on value when you get back to the SPL.

I know as rival fans you don't like to hear it, but look at Celtic. Okay, you may not be able to attract the likes of Ledley, Matthews et al. on free transfers but you should be able to scout enough young players around the world to improve your squad. If Celtic can put together a squad full of young players and win titles and make an impact in the CL then Rangers should be able to piss the 2nd and 1st divisions doing likewise.

I don't believe there is a poor signing policy at Rangers.

Most supporters were happy when we signed Templeton, Black, Sandaza and Shiels - all guys that had done well in the SPL.

Only Templeton has shown he's capable of handling the pressure that comes with playing for Rangers.

And most players worth their salt don't want to be plying their trade in the lower divisions even if it does mean playing for Rangers.

Both Rangers AND Celtic have lost out on some of the best young talent up here in recent years with guys like Dorrans, Snodgrass, McCarthy and McArthur all heading to England.

The only way Rangers can attract a better level of player right now is by offering them more money than they'd get elsewhere.

Hmmm, I don't think Celtic missed out on these players apart from McCarthy, who we didn't sign because that dickhead Mowbray said he wasn't ready for the Celtic first team <doh>

And we missed out on Fletcher because Lawwell wouldn't push the boat out and splash the £3m on him.

McCarthy = valued at £10m
Fletcher = £15m

Well done Tony and Peter.

Snodgrass is a boyhood Sellik fan fae the galagate and is currently worth somewhere in the region of £5m.

Rangers tried to get Dorrans from Livingston after he had agreed terms with Mowbray at WBA.

Two Glasgow boys from either side of the divide and both snatched for a pittance from under the noses of Scotlands' big two.

I disagree. I don't think we have the depth of squad at the moment and the less said about Perry and Hutton the better.

Law and Clark would make a huge difference along with Miller and Daly.

Problem with achieving depth is SFL rules on squad sizes/ages.

Mowbray's a dick for not pushing to get McCarthy!

Aye, but just because a decent player is from Glasgow and/or supports Celtic and Rangers isn't reason enough to sign them. The strongest part of the Celtic squad is the midfield and has been for some time. We didn't need Snodgrass. Nor McArthur for that matter.

That's where the difference of opinion comes in then.

I'd spunk less money the now and more when we reach the top level again.

We were woeful last season and won the league by 24 points.

The 2nd Division won't be any jump in 'class'.

Disagree.

The Old Firm should be snapping up all the best talent in Scotland.

Something great about signing a local boy that knows what your club's all about. Tommy Burns and Barry Ferguson are both good examples and both were gifted players.

Rangers and Celtic cannot afford to be missing out on guys like Snoddy and Dorrans, McCarthy and McArthur.

And if we draw Celtic in one of the Cups ?

With what we have at the moment it could turn very ugly.

McCoist has to find a way of bringing a better level of player to the club.
