Can't you listen to the whole show again on I-Player? http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p001d7lh/episodes/guide
IMO the Man U link is massive, plus there's still Joycey there.. fella's managed big club in Sunderland too.. he's due success.. Gary Neville for assistant please..
I'll be pleased if its Bruce given the people that we were linked with, he has a lot of connections in the game and experience. Was dreading the thought of that Davies runt or Mccarthy coming. Lee Clark would be an unmitigated disaster. The way the odds are going looks like he is pretty nailed on.
Wouldn't the Allams and Bruce be able to persuade that Egyptian winger from Sunderland, Elmohamady was his name I think, hasn't played alot for Sunderland during the 2011/12 season
Why do people think that because the Allams are Egyptian that anyone else Egyptian would want to come to City? Barmby was English but I don't recall seeing a queue of England players lining up to join us.
Mat Dean has just said...'we understand that...' which in BBC journo speak means someone at the club has told them off the record. He used the term 'speculation' to refer as to when they might meet up. The report said that no meeting has been arranged with Bruce.
No but obviously he if wants a new club, perhaps the fact if he is playing for a former manager AND owners who share the nationality, he may feel more comfortable and obligated to join someone like us, it was only a suggestion, anyway, how is Amir Zaki doing now?
I hope to god we don't get Neville as assistant only due to the drivel he comes out with while commentating and I can't stand his manc voice. Call me a mancist if you wish. Respect him for what he has done in football but the guys voice gets on my wick
But if he's our assistant you wouldn't have to hear his commentary. Not that it is likely to happen mind you
Ahhh, so that's exactly what i said ALL ALONG. It really isnt the same as saying "The Allams have contacted his representatives".
I think alot of this appointment will depend upon Money, When you look at the list of (Genuine) candidates there are only two names who stand out; Bruce and McCarthy. I imagine Bruce would want a fairly big wage, afterall he has been a PL manager for the last few years. I imagine he would want to bring his own backroom team with him, so that would be more cost. But he does bring a wealth of experiance, and hopefully a good scouting team. He does strike me though, as someone who struggles to work on a budget, And If rumours are to be believed he will have to work on one here. If it is to happen then it would be a good deal IMO, and certainly make next season a very interesting one.
If you read the whole piece I pointed out that clearly it has been indicated by an authentic source at the club as an 'off the record' comment to a BBC journalist. It's part of the game I'm afraid. Because of what is called compliance and ethical reporting, they would hardly make it up. Would you prefer that they said nothing at all if something has been hinted at? If so, then when the News Of The World etc story started to break the BBC should have ignored it. You might hate the way it works BCC, but I'm merely point out what they are doing and to some extent why they do it.
Why doesn't Billy Davies stand out? I really don't like the guy but thinking objectively his record in the Championship is excellent.
For any tweeters out there, check out Rick's tweets(@HullCityLive) on Bruce's record at each club, it really not very impressive and he spent a bloody fortune(though he did some good deals for Wigan).
I think he's been a bit unfair. If you calculate the transfer fees and the fees that the players left for (whether or not he was still at the club) you'll get a very different figure. Particularly when it comes to the likes of Valencia.
Yeah, he is a good manager though, he left Wigan when they had a clearout of players (or it was the other way round), but when he went to Sunderland he made some extravagant signings, ie Gyan 13 million,
