That's ridiculous, it's like saying if you don't count the games Man United have won or drawn in the last 25 years, they've been **** and SAF is clearly not up to the task. Obviously with any job you have to look at the whole job not just certain parts you pick and choose, and you have to take into account the circumstances of the job; for example Wigan can't attract proven players and have to go for either lower league players or take a punt on foreignors. They have a ridiculously small fanbase for a PL team so what can they expect? The fact they've stayed up so long is amazing.
An even better comparison is David Moyes at Everton. Every single year they look crap until the second half of the season and then suddenly turn into world beaters, should Moyes not be considered for better jobs because of the poor start they have to every season? Or should we look at the job done on whole?
It wasnt my opinion, I was directly quoting Latics season ticket holders who have seen them play for more often than you or I ever will. They said they were better under Bruce and Martinez signings - such as Boselli - have generally been poor.
FACT.
