He jumped ship at the first opportune moment and would have signed for Napoli this summer if he was still any good. It is obvious he doesn't want to play for us. We were the club that gave him a 'superstar' tag, and he didn't thank the club (unlike Chico, JDG et Al who did) when he went. So as far as I'm concerned, yes he was magnificent during his first season, but if he doesn't want to play for Swansea, he can get stuffed <ok>

A great deal of bile, and juvenile outpourings, aimed at Michu, by the usual suspects.
Oh what short memories these people have.

Vetch - for most, if not all, my working life I operated on the basis that you should not harbour a grudge and be prepared to wipe the slate clean for the betterment of the business and/or the working relationship.

For me, Michu was great in his first year. Michu in year 2 appeared petulant (as well as being injury "prone").

For whatever reasons, it was felt right by both sides that he spend last season on loan away from the Club.

If both sides are prepared to shake hands and work together next season, then I will be more than happy to welcome back Michu and hope that he does a great job for us! <cheers>

However, I don't expect to see Michu wearing the Swans' kit next season.

I don't expect to see Michu grace a Swans' shirt again, either,Taff.
It's such a shame that former "heroes" are treated with such contempt by some who don't grace this forum with their poisonous criticisms.
The recent history of our great Club is littered with the victims of such abuse. Martinez, Rodgers,Pratley,DeVries,Sinclair,Laudrup, etc. The list is long, and very sad.
    Only my opinion,as usual.

    http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/swansea-city-striker-michu-fails-9561123

Before his arrival Michu was a nobody, anonymous even in his own country where he plied his trade mainly in Spains' lower Divisions; peaking only once in the basement of La Liga.

While he was here for 5 months he was a legend of the game in the making. He became a world class player worth £25m and he received his first and only International call up to the Spanish squad.

Last third of his first and all of his second season with us he was nothing more than a sick note.

We brought him from obscurity, fed his ambition and gave him a stage to excel upon and helped him move-on when he REFUSED to play for us.

Michus initial uninspiring career and lately his navigation into the football gutter Michu has done all on his own. He has steered himself from becoming a legend of the game to being "the biggest flop in Serie A". Monk, Jenkins, no one has helped him stumble so low, he's managed it all by himself and he has no one else to blame.

I hope we give him his P45 sharpish and figuratively march him out the door. I say figuratively because, it would appear, that he's also too much a coward to have a one to one with real men a la Monk and Jenkins.

Swansea need men not mice so it has to be bye bye Michu. I imagine, when he's gone, the next time any one hear's his name will be in a 'where are they now' pub quiz. Michu, what a loser

It'll be very interesting to see how the Club handle this publically , I can't imagine the Board will want to set a precedent for the future. A great player but a poor attitude seems to have turned many against him which is understandable , no one player is bigger than any Club as I'm sure he'll find out.

That's it,give your Monkee "Michu" hating pals a bone to chew on.

Such a mean, spiteful post, full of bile and poison, which so typifies many of your offerings on this forum.

Go get a life,or job,and put your time to some good use.

    Vile individual.

I agree Matt, but it is a shame.

He had it all, top player, world class, international call up and a price tag to match. The shame is that he has shown himself as weak and incapable of handling the pressures of playing at the top levels.

I think the pressure manifest itself as a 'phantom injury' so he could hide behind a sick note for a season and a half.

Taylors' leg was shattered yet he fought to get back to fitness and came back to play within a year, Ramsey too came back from a near career ending injury to excel. Yet Michu? seemingly weak of character, just gave up.

His bad attitude was his main weakness, he scarpered off without one word of thank you to the fans that gave him such great support in his first year, I'll not miss him, hope he gets his head together one day, but I some how doubt it...............<ok>

Well we know now that michu was expected back by the club........We also know the club value him at £4m so this could be interesting as the club can stop his wages and stop him from playing professional football for any club through out the world..( im not sure about amateur football) Never the less he wont be allowed to earn a penny for playing football and that is his own doing...........What an idiot he is. He should have reported back and sat down with jinx and monk and worked something out even if it is another loan move until he becomes a free agent. Nobody at the club is forcing him to play for the swans if he don't want too but there is a right way and a wrong way to do things and it looks like he has chosen the wrong way.......This is fascinating on how both parties can resolve the situation...
