lets look at things a slightly different way! a large amount of Newcastle united so called greatest fans in the world turned on one of their own sir bobby robson for finishing 5th and 4 games I the following season, having took the club from the bottom half of the table to the champions league.. sickener ey

If I recall it was **** stirred by Dyer and Bellamy after you drew 2-2 at Boro that gave Freddie the excuse to pull the trigger, both were giving Sir Bobby pelters.

That's a closer assessment. And I'd agree that 10k or so (if I was guessing how many booed that Norwich game) is a fairly large amount (1/5 of the support on a matchday).

Its just important to also recognise this is not why Robson was sacked. He hadn't won in 8 PL games. 4 from the previous season. From a possible 24 PL points, he gathered 5 points. Shepherd alludes to it being not just the 4 games of the new season but also the end of the previous. Which kind of shows how little he understood football and stupidity of assessing a manager over 8 games in two separate seasons.

you cant validate those figures hence me not giving assumed figures!!! it was more than too many and a disgrace … like I say what makes it worse is the same fans licking his hoop when the anniversary of his death comes along.

its not important for me to recognise anything other than my point

I thought it was Norwich rather Boro but you may be right. Its never been confirmed it was Dyer and Bellamy who went to see the chairman. A betting man would probably think it was Shearer as he held the power at the time.

I think as fans we shouldn't be too quick to say they were wrong too. We don't actually know what state Robson was in. He was 71 lets not forget, and had long been battling illness. The theory is that the sacking tipped him over the edge, but it may have been that he'd already lost his way and those seeing him on a daily basis knew this.

My own take would be though that he seemed alright in the interviews I watched.

Well obviously I proved it incorrect that the fans had him sacked. That's important to those who like accuracy. I like accuracy.

wrong again

it was the villa game we lost that was his final

I've gone back and looked. Owen may be onto something you know. The match report says Robson left Shearer on the bench for the Villa game and left Dyer out the squad altogether...

No mention of any booing by the away fans.

It was indeed. It was away so the home fans would have done well to boo him there...

they were after his arse mate everyone knew it that had a brain... im too humble to cast numbers about but I know fine well they played a part in the sacking its just common sense because as weve agreed it was happening.

stop moving the goal posts

like I stated already

the fans of this club are a disgrace

we also got a red card at 1 1 which was not even a foul... some things never change but that was bobbys fault

No Shepherd told us why he sacked him. As did Bobby. You just seem to have trouble accepting it because it doesn't fit your fairytale. I tell you what though, if you take your story over to the mackem board, you'll be received well <cheers>

Also you were wrong again, its important to point it out. The Villa game was away. I was correct by the way it was Norwich at his last home game.

you have a very strong case of delusion

Possibly but not in relation to Robson's sacking. Thankfully we have the full facts on that from those involved. So its not my version of events. Its Bobbys and Freddies. Now if you are suggesting Robson was deluded, I think that is pretty low after already calling him untrustworthy.

who gives a **** whether is was home or away ??are you saying fans lose their ability to complain during away games ??

shepard told us many things that aren't true

so

let me get this right

if sheperd says something its true because it ignores the negative aspects from Newcastle fans in his decisions

but

everything owen says about the fans is bullshit for the opposite reason

yeah ok im dealing with the most stupid people on earth

I believe some of what Owen says, but of course some of it will be self promotion and self protection. Normal practice.

I believe Freddie and Bobby that he was sacked largely because of performance, but also because those within the club had lost confidence in him (not just the chairman but the players). I see no reason to think Bobby would lie however slippery Freddie is. I also believe Freddie because he never shied away from saying it was due to the fans he had to sack Souness. If the same was true under Robson, he'd have said it. He didn't.

I think the fans are fickle. I think they give up on certain players way too quickly. I think they make their mind up on players and managers before a ball is kicked at times.
