Coates may be worth £5 billion but he "only" put into Stoke City £100 million of his fortune. The Allams are worth considerably less but have put £80 million into Hull City.
Coates with his £100 million bought the stadium freehold, developed the training facilities and saw Stoke City become an established Premier League team. I would say Coates has done a better job of spending his money than the Allams.
I doubt Allah is that wealthy, he doesn't even exist.![]()

Because they had more investment silly. That the Allams dont have. And now we are massively more in debt compared to when the Allah's came in despite having the most successful spell in our history. Southampton have paid off £15 million in debt a year or so ago and still owe £31 million in loans to their owner, which they pay interest of 5% on. With a stadium which they own and which holds 30% more than our rented one with a training ground and academybset up which is amongst the best in the country they have made the most of their time in the PL and are in a better state than we are.
Cooates was chairman of Stoke previously, how did that go? Death threats and abuse.Coates may be worth £5 billion but he "only" put into Stoke City £100 million of his fortune. The Allams are worth considerably less but have put £80 million into Hull City.

So how do you propose we get to own our own stadium and have exclusive use of it like Soton? Who should pay for a Soton style academy? Finally, where do you suggest we get an owner with as much money and generosity as Sotons? And now we are massively more in debt compared to when the Allah's came in despite having the most successful spell in our history. Makes me laugh, you're comparing apples and cars, and trying to justify stupid comparisons.
Cooates was chairman of Stoke previously, how did that go? Death threats and abuse.
Why did he come back?
"'But it didn't work out because it's much harder than people think. So they ran out of money and began to sell assets off — a player or whatever — and I could see another downward spiral for Stoke. By then I had the money so I thought I would come back and have one last go.

We went up with Stoke and West Brom in 2008..West brom were a yo yo team for years.
Soton were a pl team for years, with only a few years in the lower leagues. Then had massive investment.
We went up with Stoke and West Brom in 2008..
They stayed up we didn't.
Brum and Derby came down and stayed down.

What narrative? We aren't owned b people as rich as stoke who have invested far more, than our owners canand are willing to invest.Don't bring facts into it. It doesn't suit the narrative of some posters.
Actually, after going up in 2007/08 with Stoke and West Brom, we stayed up and West Brom went down.

He had more money then he needed. He initially put in £40 million, converted that to shares and has now put in another £60 million. Yes he could have put in double or triple that but he didn't. He has only put in £20 million more than the Allams.
I'm leaving it obi you just won't see it. From 2010.He had more money then he needed. He initially put in £40 million, converted that to shares and has now put in another £60 million. Yes he could have put in double or triple that but he didn't. He has only put in £20 million more than the Allams.
