We had an opportunity to stay in the PL the last twice and build on it. West Brom and Southampton have established themselves, clubs in one place with a lower population and one of a similar size. It has been incompetence and an unwillingness to listen to people with more football experience that has caused this.
I loved telling Leeds fans that we couldn't talk about how we would do against each other as we weren't in the same division. Now they will be crawling out of the woodwork again and investing the streets and pubs in their shirts again after them being noticeably quiet for a while.

To be fair the pubs & streets could do with a little investment.

West brom were a yo yo team for years.
Soton were a pl team for years, with only a few years in the lower leagues. Then had massive investment.

So Coates has lent Stoke City £100 million of which £40 million was been converted to shares. To me that's not much different to the Allam's lending Hull City £80 million.
The people who own stoke city have five billion behind them. The Allams are Minnows. What arent you getting

Coates wrote off £50m, then subsequently loaned another £59m interest free.

Allam wrote of f nothing and is charging 4% on his £70m loan.

One's a fan, one's a ****, they're not comparable.

Massive investment? Maybe but Southampton have regularly sold their best players.

West Brom did yo yo but used the money sensibly and have now established themselves.

Its difficult to establish a team in the PL.
Soton had massive investment.

You also have to remember how the club is financially, when the Allams came in we were ****ed. Soton were in trouble massively wealthy owners bailed them out.

As someone who doesnt want to pay tax at all. i can hardly see you writing off 50 million.

Be very nice if someone did do it for us like. But i cant expect the Allams to do it.

If I was worth £1b, I'd happily write off £50m to benefit my football team.

I don't actually have any issue with Allam charging interest on his loan, but he's still a ****.

Finally. AA isnt worth 1 billion.
So lets not infer its summat he should do.
He may be a **** but on that issue he isnt.

Coates isn't worth £5 billion, neither is his daughter. So they don't have £5billion behind them. Whatbtgeir firm is worth and what they can lay their hands on are different things altogether.

And that applies to Allam too.
Who can lay his hands on a lot less than coates.

And now we are massively more in debt compared to when the Allah's came in despite having the most successful spell in our history. Southampton have paid off £15 million in debt a year or so ago and still owe £31 million in loans to their owner, which they pay interest of 5% on. With a stadium which they own and which holds 30% more than our rented one with a training ground and academybset up which is amongst the best in the country they have made the most of their time in the PL and are in a better state than we are.

Coates may be worth £5 billion but he "only" put into Stoke City £100 million of his fortune. The Allams are worth considerably less but have put £80 million into Hull City.

Coates with his £100 million bought the stadium freehold, developed the training facilities and saw Stoke City become an established Premier League team. I would say Coates has done a better job of spending his money than the Allams.

Yes, but you were comparing the value of Coates company to the personal wealth of Allah. Two different things. Coates may not be able to lay his hands on a lot more as his money is tied up in his firm.
