I always thought that it was Tom Cowie that knocked Cloughie back because he was too controversial ??

Saw the item on look north, his insight into the standard of chairmen who have ran this great club since the early 1960s is gash. It was obvious in Cloghies early management career that he was something special but our lot wouldn't take the risk, where could we have gone onto under him we will never know, it makes me want to weep having mostly disappointment in the 55 years I've been following this wonderful football club.

This is either the worlds longest medical or we're about to get told he's failed it.

The biggest dissapointment of all was Stokoe getting the job in the early seventies, overshadowed by our success in 73 it soon backfired. The culprits were Sid Collins and his boy of course well happy in their comfort zone.

Why does it seem that our club take two or three times longer than others to seal a deal, Sam was wanting early signings in this window and here we are a week gone already and no one signed on the dotted line, it is so frustrating supporting this club.

Syd Collins was on the FA committee from the mid sixties until after Stokoes time, every time they show Bobby Moore receiving the world cup in 66 he,shakes hands with all the knobs on the front row of the royal box and turns to lift the cup and ignores Collins, I've always wondered if there was any snub intended there, probably not but makes me think.

Why 18 month? Strange contract length. We gave Oshea 34 ish a 2 year contract. We gave crunchie head a 1 year ext. We give a 25 yr old coming up to his peak a poxy 18 months. Was that he's choice or ours?

dont know if this is correct or not but... If your a footballer in Germany and get injured you dont get your full salary, 30% or somethign .

So maybe we dont want him long term incase he is ANOTHER crock
    or
he thinks im good enough for better but lets get some coin in England just incase , and if im still ok in 18 month ill **** off

or i made it all up in my head!! **** knars

Could very well be the type of contract to suit both parties if he becomes a hit player. He takes a standard Prem wage, which is still a fair bit higher than the ones in Germany, but no reduction if we drop. Back in a season to the massive salary. Pragmatic player and manager hopefully.

Well if he's passed the strictest fitness test of the modern age, AKA the Sunderland medical, he must be in good nick.

I don't think any of us know much about him but it's hard to imagine him getting a game for Bayern if he's crap. I like the fee and contract length and his age and physique are right for what we need. Looking forward to seeing what he's all about.

I know he's only played twice for Bayern with no league appearances and been injured all season. I know he only played 14 games last season was injured the rest of the time. The season before that 13 games. All with injuies to the same foot.
