No. And they most certainly weren't, there were far more saying how **** he is than there were saying he's a handy larker.
If I could be arsed, I would attempt to search through the thousands of threads we get through on here, but because I know for a fact my memory isn't failing me I'm content in the knowledge that it happened.
If you want proof, find it yourself, cropped up a few times towards the end of and a little after the season.
He was excellent tonight, would be a good signing, though I think a few of the Chile players will be sort after.

To be fair he was very good all season, this isn't hype based on a couple of world cup games.
Medel's expected to return to Spain ahead of next season, with Valencia the most likely destination.
He's currently registered with Udinese, but he's on loan at Internacional (the Brazilian one).

Apart from one poor punch the Chile keeper looked very useful came out and took crosses confidently, made good saves.
