I saw Mcshane entering the stadium about 2.30 on Saturday, seemed a bit late so did wonder if something was up

Supposedly the stadium is too small and since in a survey a few years ago Hull came 74th out of 90 in a table of the percentage of population attending football matches, if we accept we cannot balance the club's books and whoever owns City after The Allams will eventually "do a Bartlett" ... being prepared might be wise .... I was only pondering this today ... Bartlett replaced Brown (who is still in football management) with Dowie (who hasn't managed a club since .... is there a trend developing here?), Allam replaced Barmby with Bruce (who will almost certainly manage after Hull City) .... brave decision, but the right one I think though Barmby is and always will be a hero ...... David Lloyd replaced Dolan (who got management jobs afterwards) with Hateley (who hasn't managed since) .... anyway, I digress. We'll get relegated one day and City fans are running out of local multi-millionaires to bank-roll the club so, I'd rather the club survived in The Championship or lower than died trying to punch above its weight.

We were allegedly in dire straits with a £30mill debt, we've now got £100 mill debt and attendances are a small part of income.

Nobody argues we don't need to find ways of bringing in extra income, what we don't need is the chairman farting about wasting time and money pursuing a petulant name change that will reduce sales opportunities while other avenues such as merchandising and marketing are turning to rat ****.

Erm... Quinn was easily our best player in our promotion season and won Players' Player of the Year. McShane came second in the Player of the Year vote.

Not guaranteed starters in the Championship? You're talking bollocks mate.

Both were integral parts and we wouldn't have got promotion without them.

Won Player of the Year, not Players' Player of the Year, the latter being a much more accurate and prestigious award as it is being decided by peers rather than all those Egyptian fans voting on the Facebook page.

    1. I never said they weren't integral parts of our promotion season because they where.

    2. I will hold my hands up and admit I was wrong about Quinn and didn't realise just how many appearances he had (in the 40's).

    3. McShane made 25 appearances. Faye made 31. Bruce made 32. Not all of them where starts. James Chester made 44 appearances. Therefore Paul McShane was not a guaranteed starter.

    4. We digress from the main point. McShane and Quinn with our progression as a club are quickly becoming surplus to requirements.

Hence the reason they are rumoured to be loaned out. The gulf between Davies/Chester/Dawson and Bruce/McShane is huge. The gulf between Huddlestone, Diame, Elmo etc and Quinn is huge.

Quinn and McShane are cult heroes. Their temperament and attitude whilst playing has been amazing and they will forever be remembered for their contributions but their time based on our progression is coming to an end, if not now than in the near future.

They can't just stick around without game time because of sentimentality.

McShane spent a fair amount of time injured as did Hobbs. The first choice defence was Chester - Hobbs - McShane I believe when all were fit.

Just how far have Hull City come on the playing front when we can argue about if a current international is good enough to be in our squad never mind in the starting 11.

But is anybody actually that surprised that they were left out? Look at the players who start in their positions, then look at the cover on the bench for them. Alex Bruce aside, do they actually warrant a place on the bench? I do enjoy seeing Aluko play, but we have better now in Ben Arfa, Ramirez, Elmohamady, Ince and Robertson who are all going to get in ahead of him (the latter looking like he can play further up the field if necessary).

With regards to Ince, he's a young lad with a lot to learn, he played a smattering of games for Palace and did ok. I think we'll gradually see more of him as the weeks go by but he'll have known that other players were going to come in at some point; it's down to him to prove in training and other opportunities that he can force his way into the squad.

This isn't a criticism Sterling but isn't that true of all footballers at every Club? Prove you deserve the shirt?

Choosing who is the better play out of McShane and Bruce is like choosing the best gravy out of oxo or ahh bisto!...both the same.

Apparently not, because Tyler Blackett keeps trotting on for United and Bruce keeps making the bench ahead of McShane.

Are they? Thought we had record shirt sales this season beating last season which was also a record.
What are we missing out on? Genuine question.

We did have record shirt sales, but we're only beating our own records, unlike other clubs, we don't allow the shirts to be sold anywhere other than our own club shops.

Also, the offer in the club shop/website, outside of the Umbro stuff, is a right load of old tat.

Opinions are like arseholes...everyone's got one.

Mine is that neither are good enough at this level and there is no room for sentiment.

Any decent offers come in and we should get rid.

    FACT.
