The other fact will be all the trophys he won after he left compared to your one league cup. We've got goals all over the pitch, you rely on your strikers - big difference. They'll get more goals than ours but we'll score more as a team.
Now you're comparing the two teams. We're looking at Torres in isolation, and correct that he's won more at Chelsea but was he really involved? Do you think he looks at those medals and truly believes he earnt them? Who knows... But as Jonesy said, he played his best football for LFC - not for Chelsea and not for Atl Madrid. He played with confidence and was a world class striker.
Torres was arguably our most important player in the Europa so that medal he certainly earnt. Agreed he played his best for Liverpool (not the last 18 months though) but the team was set up to supply him all the time. Aside from Gerrard, you got very few goals from the rest of you team. My point being is that Suarez or Sturridge wouldn't get so many goals in our side as they do in yours. We are set up completely differently where midfielders coming from deep score so many goals and we get a fair few from set plays too. The stats don't tell the whole picture. As long as we are winning, I don't really care if Torres (or whatever striker plays) gets the goals. If you actually watched Torres every week you'd see that he aint missing dozens of chances every game, he isn't getting that many chances in reality.
Sorry Pal, proof of the pudding is in the eating. Do we want him back? Resounding NO coming right at ya!
There have been many false dawns that Torres is finally getting back to his best after one good performance.
Oh sweet jesus. Suarez will score goals and a few in ANY team, shows what you know He makes many of his own, he wouldnt get as many goals in your team? 0 cred mate, you know **** all and that's totally apparent Sturridge too, he makes some of his own, players that do that will score in any team. I wouldn't swap Suarez for all of your forwards and I wouldn't swap Sutrridge for all of your forwards. Top scorer and Suarez who's not played for 5 games is 3rd top scorer, you know nothing
Posted without a hint of irony - lol. McNulty's comment was bang right. Anyone who's saw Torrres against Spurs, Shalke & City, who's seen him in the last year or 2 & who knows anything about the game - will have noted a marked difference in both his attitude & performance. Whether it'll last in the long term remains to be seen, which is exactly what McNulty says. #bitter
Torres played a few good games under Rafa but my over opinionated friend who disappeared until Everton were racking up the points, McNulty says it is Jose which is bollocks. Torres is a mental basket case who is **** when he's down and good when he's up. No one has said he hasn't put in the odd good shift. 1 league goal and McNulty's off on a tangent. You're another little trollytrollersson as well. Hey, get over it, your opinion often bollocks just look at Martinez and Suarez, two things you blathered on about for posts and posts, especially Suarez and got it 100% wrong. If Everton were lying 16th or something you wouldn't even be on here posting
lol, if we listed the times you've spouted absolute ****e on this forum, we'd be here all day love. Note the difference btw, I've admitted I was wrong about Martinez. Suarez was forced to stay, not through choice, so you can't say I wrong there like....whereas you......haha. As for Torres, you've even admitted there "he's good when he's up", we've not seen performances the like of Sunday from him for over 2 years, but you're trying to make out that McNulty making the correlation to Mourinho arriving & him "being up" is somehow outlandish. The reality is that you're just a bitter kopite who constantly takes pot shots at Chelsea & can't stand the thought of Mourinho winning more pots for them, especially if it's in tandem with Torres. You also hate McNulty - add them all together & you get this bitter pile of ****.
Haha This thread was about McNulty and an article he wrote about Torres, I don't give a **** about McNulty and this is a football forum so it makes sense to talk about the footballer. Also Sisi you love to abuse people who disagree with you especially when you are proven to be talking ****e, like on this thread.
Like the FA Cup final he didn't even take part in and the CL he played 5 minutes in - yeah he got the medals - by default!
haha, another bitter kopite. I notice you've failed to mention his goal in the UEFA cup final of last season. You've also omitted the fact that he bagged the goal that saw them past Barcelona in the SF of the CL...... He also made 6 appearances, scoring 2 goals, in their FA Cup winning season of 2012...... But of course he deserved nothing, he got his medals by 'default' btw he scored 22 goals last season, at a rate of just better than 1 in 3 He's currently got 5 in 11 this season, so nearly 1 in 2.....but of course there's no improvement, nor a correlation to Mourinho's arrival.... #onlyonplanetkopite
Did sisu even read the article? It clearly acknowledges he will never be the old Torres but says he is still a good player. Bitter ramblings from the Matth of the Liverpool board. Both plastics too.
You said if we didn't sell him he'd sulk on the pitch and be a disruptive presence in the dressing room, remember?
Given that McNulty entitled the piece; Fernando Torres: Revival has substance but glory years are gone & concluded it with; Torres is not back. The Torres of his pinnacle will not return. The Torres of today, however, currently appears more than good enough for Chelsea and Mourinho. You might think not, but he tends to only see what he wants to see....which is probably why he thinks the Yanks orchestrated 9/11 from the building next door........
I said that was likely - which it was - as it's a road well travelled & plenty on here agreed with me.....
