When people say he's getting back his form...what are they comparing it to? Right now, I see a **** striker who's had a few good games but still nothing even remotely close to what he did during his time at Liverpool. I fear people are just comparing him to what he showed in the last two years. Whilst it's a stark improvement, he's now just average and inconsistent. Countless other strikers who are better than him in the PL alone.

What amused me was the Chelsea fans claiming Mourinho was a genius for getting him back on form (which he isn't) and saying how he's got the team together again purely because Torres spoke about the team in his interview rather than himself. Right. Because not a single club hire PR people to tell them how to answer questions and no other player in the world talks about the team <doh>

"Yeah, you know, made up with the two goals but it's all about the three points, you know, at the end of the day"

Blah blah. TL;DR, Mourinho's overrated, Torres is still ****.

I make it about the league you trolling idiot because I was on the premier league stats site<doh> Stop trolling bits you think you get leverage on your argument with, you aint

As for being much better, I agree, again you seem to miss the point, it's not about Torres being slightly better than the dross he was it was about McNulty having a **** and trying to say it's down to Maureen, who hasn't been playing him<doh>

Any need to talk like that? I'm trying to have a sensible argument and you turn into a child because you are losing.

Hull- played ok
Aston Villa - didn't play
Bayern- played and scored
Man Utd- didn't start
Everton - didn't start
FC Basel- didn't play
Fulham- didn't start
Tottenham- worked hard was the centre of a lot of good play before being sent off
Steaua Bucuresti- injured early in game
Norwich City- unavailable
Cardiff- didn't start
Schalke- played well
Man City- played well

This is Torres' season so far, hasn't played that much and the games he played he has done well. He deserves some credit this season for how he has done when he has got the chance.

He has scored 1 goal in 7 premier league games, what a player. Back to his best #fact

No,no, C'Mon lads: lets hope Chelsea fans continue to get this 'returned to form' goals to games ratio all season.
It'd be just class.

McNulty could started speaking in tongues and declared prophecy ......and he'd still be a ****er.

I think Rafa even admitted (whilst at Chelsea) that Torres won;t be the same after his injuries at LFC ...

I had a soft spot for Torres because he's the best striker I've ever witnessed, and a small part of me felt that his form would return if he came back to LFC.

There will be the odd flashes of brilliance but he'll never be the same player again, not unless he moves from Chelsea because he's clearly playing with fear and low confidence.

Really, I think Suarez is better than Torres was.

I think the key is in the word 'striker'.

Luis is a superb talent and certainly a better player than Torres was but Fernando was a better striker IMO

After last season I think Suarez has reached Torres' old level even as a goalscorer/striker, he near enough matched Torres' best season ever in a much poorer Liverpool team. And he is on course to even surpass that this season if he keeps up his start to the season.

And that's not taking into account his extra skills and the things he brings to the team that Torres never did.

As I said, Suarez is a better player but Torres was a better striker IMO. Torres only needed one or two chances, Suarez need at least half a dozen.

If you take out the level he used to be with and compare him as just an individual any Chelsea fan will say the first two seasons were awful, and at a club like Chelsea your not usually given time to settle in.

He cost 50 million though and any sale on him you would see him a massive lose.

Yeah he played well against Man City, but if that gifted goal never happened, what would there be talk about? How he ran a lot and got an assist? Not article worthy.

And how he missed an absolute sitter that even *I* could have netted.

And then the Chelsea "faithful" would revert to denigrating him on every football forum they frequent.

One fluke goal & he's back to his best?

Not by a long shot.

In years to come when analysing the career of Fernando Torres, one fact will be irrefutable - Liverpool got the BEST years out of him, from that point, his career took a nosedive and he never recovered.

McNulty despoils the epitaph of ****ER. Torres is like the UK economy - look hard enough and you'll find minute traces of recovery. Then compare that progress with other strikers and you find? - ABJECT FAILURE

****er is dead? Oh no!
<yikes>

Don't really care about what Torres is doing any more, I wanted him to fail initially of course but I'm over it now, Suarez coming in eased any pain. I never expected him to flop as he did but if he gets back to any sort of form then fair play to him but he has a while to go yet.

But now we have 2 strikers banging in goals for us which is all that really matters to me.

16 league goals for 50 million quid, says it all

some chav said:
Brilliant. Looks as if Jose has worked his magic yet again. We might finally start to see a good run of form..

Jose has worked his magic, we might see a run of form, which is it?
<doh>

The chavs must have been searching the forum for the word Torres to have found this thread cos it aint in the thread title, well eatmyhole was and then he went and told his chav mates<laugh> pathetic trolls
