At last the official statement came, and I welcome the honesty & transparency, has to be applauded, music to my ears - "I will continue to be transparent with you, our fans" by Acun.

I admit I've never been a "Grant" fan, voted him out in the poll, always out, never changed my mind, but he is an historic [HASHTAG]#hcfc[/HASHTAG] Manager, delivering us a league championship in over 55 yrs. For this, and all that he has given to our club, albeit at times seemingly with hands tied behind their backs, I thank him and Cliff and wish them both all best wishes & good luck in their future footy journeys. Will miss the shorts!!

Whilst the timing of the change in Manager may be a bit odd, we have all been here long enough to know it's never dull in Hull, it's how we roll, time to get behind the new regime, onwards and upwards, UTT.

Used to enjoy rugby league more before the silly nonsense of non contested scrums and wriggling about on the ground (Aussies call it the ground shagging version of the sport) before backheeling it for 5 tackles then kicking it. Still admire the fitness and attitude of the players though. Footballers could learn from them in a few areas.

Probably because there aren't any professional Union teams in this area.
I stopped listening years ago cause I can't stand Gollum repeating everything and the ****fest over Rovers and Rugby League.
The BBC certainly have a great way of finding ****ing annoying presenters.

More kids play union in the area covered by Radio Humberside, which covers more than just Hull. More people in pubs watching Union internationals than league ones. England have games in front of 80,000 at Union but RH don't mention the games but spend hours discussing league ones played in front of crowds less than a quarter of that. They spend time discussing cricket, probably because Gollum likes it and was a pretty good cricketer by all accounts on the basis it is the national team but ignore Union if they can.

I get that. There aren't many better sporting spectacles and theatre than a good game of international rugby union but the domestic games can't compare

The old saying I first heard back n the 1960s is still in some ways relevant, though not as much as then. "A good game of Union is better than a good game of League but a bad game of Union is worse than a bad game of League." That isn't quite as much the case since Union went professional as the gap between international and club games isn't quite as great. Back then clubs regarded games as a matter for them and their players and anyone watching should consider themselves being lucky to be allowed to do so.

I know.
One of my best mates (sadly passed away) from a few years ago could never recognise that Union was a bigger sport than RL.
This was before Union had professional status.
We certainly had some arguements about it. I'd love to have the same arguments again. RIP Paul.
I still prefer a good game of RL over RU but as regards the Internationals it's RU by a country mile.

Been watching some good club matches on TV over the last few weekends which I have found enjoyable.Have to if grandson comes round as he prefers union to any other sport and plays it and is always watching to pick up tips. Would rather he played football but youngsters playing any sport is a good thing.
 
Trawling through some of the Rangers' fans thoughts on our new incoming, it seems that he was, understandably considering his record there, a really popular player. One fan's quote that stood out made me think that we may be in for some fun at times......

"He was a very underrated player. But also somewhat unhinged."

I'm looking forward to it!!
