Giving somebody a second chance isn't the same as condoning child rape, what planet are you on? Trying to rehabilitate an offender isn't advocating their crime, otherwise the whole Rehabilitation sector are openly promoting the crimes of their clients.

So you're saying that a government sector aimed at bringing criminals back into society as rehabilitated people is an open avocation of the crimes those people committed? Really?
If you were in charge of rehabilitating somebody, say somebody who was in there for being a racist. You're trying to help them break away from who they were and start life anew at a sociably acceptable level to us. You aren't saying to them "continue being racist, but act normal around the police". You're trying to help them realise their mistake, how much impact it had on those involved and how they can better themselves so that they don't make the same mistake again.
If there was a rule about closing threads on the grounds that they're totally boring and going nowhere it probably would have been.
