Poor, poor goal to concede when doing so well. Otherwise a great start. More open than I would like though. Let Everton boss it after that but that Defoe goal is a lifeline against the run of play. They had a long game in the week, tiredness will come into it before the end, but we have to press the ball more

The first goal is exactly why the 352 needs a full preseason. It's a whole new defensive dynamic. Pants was poor for both goals(megged and beaten at the near post). Good game, goals in both sides. Great goal from Defoe. We deserve to be down though as both goals were gifted but at least we're back in the game. HAWAY!

No more than we deserve IMO.

Hit the post twice and had a couple of other good opportunities.

Lets keep it tight for the first 10-15 mins and take it from there.

Great first 15 and last 1! Poor 32 in between!! Could've been 2-0 up on another day. Hilarious listening to the commentator, after 2 minutes, say "yet another decision goes the way of Sunderland" when we got a goal kick which came off an Everton player!

Come on!!!!!!!!! Could this be finally the team that fights back, really thought Everton would cruise to victory after their second!! You are all free to custard pie my face if we get something out of this :-)

I never blame a keeper for getting megged in that situation. But he probably wouldn't have been megged if it hadn't hit the defender which changed it from being like ;to quote the commentator) "a great save" to a goal (he said that about a similar incident when Howard saved one earlier in the half). Second one I thought he'd slipped at first but it was as if he expected it to go over? Strange one and I can't work it out!

John Stones was awful for our goal mind. Looked like Coates not bothered about attacking the ball and Defoe nips in front!!

Well for the second Kone blind sided him, this is where a keepers anticipation and positioning must kick in and realise why the striker is blind siding him, he needed to over cover his near post if that's. Kone had touch two touches before the shot as he came across out defendes. More than enough time for Pants to cover but he only adjusted his position by about a yard.
