Martinez OUT!

He didn't though.

He was asked "Do you expect to be here next season"

To which he answered Yes.

What's he meant to say given there's not been a formal approach for him? No lads I fancy going to Everton after talking to Moshiri on the sly....<laugh>

We'll see how it pans out, but I think it's far from finished.

If there is a formal approach and then he says "Yes" when asked if he's definitely staying, you can draw a line under it. Until then don't count your chickens.

How pedantic do you want to get ?

" you're telling us your future is staying at this club " ? " Yes "

He may leave tonight ........

My gut feeling is he will not be here after his current contract expires , but he seems the kind to honour his current contract .

It's not being pedantic, it's being factual.

There's been no formal approach, therefore there's nothing to discuss publicly, and of course his future - as it stands - is therefore at Southampton.
As he's the Southampton manager and has a year left on his contract.

IF a formal approach ever arrives, then we'll see how it pans out.

If you didn't have a cuddly avatar , I would say horrid things about you , but you do , so I won't , Good night .

No offence (I'm not even sure which side I'd be offending) but Southampton is about the same level as Everton anyway, except Southampton still have the chance for European football

You keep telling us about this great Liverpool but you are a 300m squad 8th in the league team so your opinion of what level teams are at is the same as all your other opinions utter tripe...

You could use the same argument to say that Klopp would leave us to go to West Ham, or that LVG would leave Uniturd to go to Leicester.

Oh, hang on....

Oh, hang on....

I'm not judging on a single season, it's based on consistency and trajectory.

Southampton: 2nd in Championship -> 14th PL -> 8th -> 7th -> 7th currently
Everton: 7th -> 6th -> 5th -> 11th -> 12th currently

Everton are generally higher but their high point is years ago and still only a bit higher than the level Southampton are now. Southampton's consistent progress suggests where they are isn't a fluke.

I expect both clubs to be in the 6-10 positions next season.

When Koeman is pictured signing his Everton contract you can sniff my balls

You're welcome :)

Never in all my time as a football fan have I seen a manager declare he wants to move to another club while still in a job.
