In the spirit of forever waiting and seeing, let's not be too quick to judge Rupert Lowe, eh? After all, we don't know the full story.
Congratulations to those who have managed to drag a tribute thread to Markus down into a bickering match. If it continues I will delete your posts. For goodness sake show some respect. Now, in an attempt to get back on topic, here is a particularly fine obituary to Markus from the Independent: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/o...preneur-who-saved-southampton-fc-2063201.html
You may as well delete the existing ones anyway, no one needs to read them. I love the term "Ein Schnäppchen". One of the rare times German is a beautiful language.
Ooooh, ooooh, ooooh. Did my very first tweet (no longer a virgin) on Saints twitter about Markus and got favorited (sic) by SFC. Autographs on request.
Out of existence...we were that close. I find it so strange that ML considered us a bargain (with our assets) yet no one else did. Glad we fell into the hands of someone who wanted to invest in our future...could have been really asset stripped.
I think we'd have been taken over by someone else. Probably a consortium a la Portsmouth. We'd not have nearly as much money and wouldn't have been able to buy our way out of League One.
Careful, the mere mention of those two words together makes some people on this forum go cuckoo bananas!....
Thanks Markus, I hope you are resting peacefully up there with a smile about how far the club has risen in 5 years. And one of the mods might want to correct the spelling mistake in the thread title.
Saints have been sharing some fan photos today. Here are two. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Markus will always be a legend in our eyes, but without Nicola we would of never had him so massive thanks to the 2 of them.
On a side note not far from where i live they are redoing the flood defences on the river arun, and its liebherr cranes that are doing the lifting work, when i see them i always have a little look to the heavens.
Puts recent events into perspective. We could easily have been liquidated 5 years ago. Losing a few players is annoying, but we are still in a brilliant position. Thanks Markus, #legend.
