I would have gone and got Warnock as he seems to be able to keep clubs up.

I wonder if your board considered going back for Kloeman

I doubt the latter , Les Reed seems too arrogant for that , probably RK is as well .

Yeah, there's no way that was happening.

We should have pushed the boat out money wise to get him to stay in the first place, but that was probably never happening either <grr>

I said at the time , and I still stand by it , he ( RK ) was happy with a 3 year contract . We should have honoured that and spent the last 12 months looking for a replacement . But NO , he called our bluff , and I still cannot say I blame him .

    Indeed .

What really got me about that though , we ( Myself included ) are quick enough to slag off players when they want to go before a contract expires , but here we are in a situation where the employee seems happy to see out the contract , and that still isn't good enough <doh>

Or did I get it all wrong ?

    I knows he's become a bit of a **** but I like him.

Came through the ranks when I had my first junior ST and when he returned was part of our renaissance era.

    Special 'I was there' memories;

his pass to Norman Whiteside in the 85 cup final, his winning goal in the 85 semi replay, his two goals in the 91 cwc final, his late equaliser in the FA cup semi v Oldham, as especially brilliant lobbed volley over Grobellaar? I think v Liverpool

He wasn't a 20 a season scorer but was a great foil for Eric and scored some big goals.

To me, he's a legend and nothing will change that.

Sparky is an inspired appointment compared to Pards.
He ain't Pulis either against relegation scrap, but still Saints would have enough unfortunately to keep them up.

Saints deserve to go down. But not this year I am afraid.

Not sure what’s meant to be inspired about it. The bloke has proven himself at every one of his clubs to be either mediocre or awful.

Selling all their players is not a sin.
But sacking Puel is a saintly sin. Imho for that they deserve to go down

Change the They to you ( as in Me ) .
I disagree , he did not fit for us , however , as has I think been proven , it was not his skills that were the problem . Perhaps other ego's got in the way ?

No doubting his talent as a manager now !

I like the way Puel has blooded the youngsters with us ... and we do now play a more pleasing on the eye possession based game ... but I can still find some criticism ... Dragovic was our quickest central defender and was playing very well but Claude has put Big Wes straight back in the side as soon as he was fit again and the first goal yesterday came from Morata outpacing Wes - don't think he'd have got away from Dragovic ... Kaspar has also had some right mares recently - especially away at Man City - and Hamer and Jakupovic have both done well playing in the cup competitions and I don't think would have got beaten in the air by a fookin' dwarf like Pedro <doh> ... but overall, pleased with how we are playing under him <ok>
