Clarke staying at Reading, hopefully Fulhams 2nd choice was Sherwood.
What a cock up. Has talks with Fulham and was turning back on Reading. It doesn't work out for him so he wants to stay at Reading? <laugh> That will mess them up now.

Agree mate, once you've had talks elsewhere, it's pretty difficult to go back.

A bit of a stupid move tbh. I reckon he wants out at Reading but had problems with the Fulham deal so did a u turn. I wonder if the dumb Reading fans will welcome him back? Probably because he is Ex Chelsea.

... although how well Warnock will take to having Les Ferdinand placed between him and TF is questionable, particularly if Warnock starts to turn the team around. The suggestions that there are sparks flying between Neil and Les are credible imo. Let's hope they forge a working relationship

Does Les still have the trots? I can only imagine how having to remain within 10ft of a toilet can be slowing the search. The cynic would say that the longer Les is I'll, the closer we get to the 'end of the month' situation....

I've got to the point where I'm convinced that whoever we reject will succeed elsewhere, and whoever we appoint will be hated if we win ugly and loved if we lose pretty.

I can't wait.

I envisage our next manager they choose to make his way up through the toilet system and enter Sir Les

Like a giant bog kraken

People, what l can't understand is whenever we a looking to buy or sell, the process drags on forever, whilst other teams get things done asap.
It seems to be a common trait for several years now.
Why is that?

Agree a bit when it comes to buying players, although that isn't as easy as people on here like to assume. Think it's sensible they take their time with this rather than jump at the first available big name (e.g. Redknapp, Hughes).

Personally I like Sir Les but I do question his role. What is he actually doing and what has he achieved to deserve such a role?
I care about the club and I'm not convinced his current role is in the best interests of the club - he's likely to put off good potential managers.

Spot on, mate. I think Pearson would of grabbed it if LF wasn't in such a position.

Call me old fashioned or whatever but a Director of Football position is for the very largest of clubs, not our little club that's in the Championship.

The only thing l find consistent with LF is that with any interview, photo image, etc. he is smiling. I think that is his main brief. Do whatever you think is right but make sure you smile or your out. He seems to be succeeding without question.

Hopefully, we can still attract a worthy candidate.

I've just read that 'QPR receive huge boost' ...... We can get Jimmy Floyd Hasslebank on the cheap.
Dam, looks like we have our next manager then.

That's the problem in a nutshell. None of us really properly understand SLF's role or even the DoF role in general so how we can decide that he isn't doing any good is beyond me. At the end of the day the manager has to report to someone and surely they'd rather report to a football man rather than just an exec in a suit.

Yeah. Like Redknapp. Or Hughes.

... or Pardew or Ranieri who have taken their teams into the top half of the Prem. It's a hard call whether a "name" has failed and should disappear into obscurity, or has just been working in difficult external circumstances. Hughes is showing he can cut it in the Prem (albeit with a largely inherited team). Is Moyes a dead loss having failed twice after Everton...?

Bringing Ramsey into a Premiership team when he had no managerial experience whatsoever was rash. I don't mind someone from a lower division, but they must have already shown real potential in their incipient managerial career

The chances of Pearson being interested is remote & that has nothing to do with Ferdinand. He has a long dislike of Hoos!

JFH would be the right choice IMO. Invest in the future rather live in the past!

I want a manager to build for the long term, not another one who wants to change the whole team every transfer window!

You make some valid points my friend.

Maybe, Colin is not at Boro because his p45 and the new manager are imminent?
Maybe all this 'personal reasons' stuff is a cover up. Maybe they have somehow created some sad news/illness/bereavement just to keep the story going <doh> is it Saturday yet?

If something was sorted today, It wouldn't be a good time to announce it. Colin might have found out and chucked his toys out of the pram.

Then they would have said NW has left the club and not put out a statement regarding 'personal' Some on twitter say its a family thing.
