Am I the only one who thinks at this stage Rodgers would be the wrong appointment? He inherited a stable ball-playing Swansea team that had been gradually built up by previous managers such as Martinez and Sousa and he couldn't really fail at Liverpool with the quality they had but he did his best to blow it. He failed dismally at Reading who were in a similar position to us when he took over and we just don't have the quality to play his style at present. I just think he could be another costly disaster waiting to happen. I'm beginning to think leave it with Warnock for the rest of the season and see if he can galvanise some team spirit mixed with two or three signings in January and perhaps a couple of loans...
I reverse the question 999s....would you be happy with Sherwood? And to a slightly less degree with Jol or Clark So, it does to me, matter who takes over....but it is ...as long as it isn't ....
Saw this posted on facebook... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...immy-floyd-hasselbaink-6857909?ICID=mirror_MF Seems to have done well at Burton, just a shame he's ex-Chelsea.
I'm a bit 'old school' mate ...................... I like tried and tested managers. Warnock, Pearson & Rodgers will do, anything else is experimental which thew last thing we need at present, cheers.
I have my doubts about Rodgers too, for the reasons you give and also I wonder if he'd be that interested in us after where he has been. I'd be happy if we got Pearson but don't think he'd come while we have Hoos.
I can see why JFH's recent track record seems to make him an attractive proposition but I vividly recall him appearing as a pundit a few times a couple of seasons back and he was awful: not very bright and didn't contribute any meaningful analysis. I can't get over that and, therefore, I would be very nervous if he were appointed to QPR.
I agree. I don't think that we can take a chance with this appointment. We need somebody that is tried and tested.
I'll be amazed if it is Rodgers...quite a step down for him, I would have thought a PL team would have lined him up by now I see Claude Le Roy has just left his post with the Congo National Team for a "new project". From Central Africa to South Africa Road...stranger things have happened...
All Reading fans are doing is making up cr2p stories of seeing Pearson at a station, buying a house and at the training ground. Bunch of twunt muppets. I am not worried about them or who goes there, although i would laugh if it was Timmy. What i want for us is a decent manager who will make us progress.
Someone called Dean Smith has just appeared in the betting. On investigation, he turns out be Walsall manager - currently 3rd in League 1.
i reckon it will be someone out of the blue that we get. The press will link everyone to create a story but history shows that they have been wrong on many occasions.
Am I the only one who doesn't want Hasselbaink at all? A Chelsea man....at QPR?! No chance. Warnock till the end of the season, re-group and assess the options then.
As I said many pages ago on this thread: I'm just trying to imagine the likes of Phillips, Onouha, Hoilett, Perch and Mackie playing tippy tappy in their own half....
