The longer they are away from trophies and getting shocking results against easy beats like the mags the quicker the brand name value goes down
I think when Moyes took over at West Ham... they had to reference his time at Sunderland... but in essence you’re right, that simply never happens
That would be mint "Sunderland AFC are not delighted to announce Phil Parkinson as manager but, alas, he's all we could afford so just like when your mam used to bring back own brand Coco Pops instead of Kellogg's, even though she knew you only liked Kellogs, you'll just have to make do. Phil comes with a frankly mediocre record as a manager but he has won promotion twice from this league in 16 years so, you know, there's a chance. We won't mention his championship record because we don't want to get ahead of ourselves at this crucial time... and because it's ****. We've inexplicably given him a two and a half year contract, so there's that as well. Welcome to the club Phil"
I would have said a 15 match contract, but it's the players not the manager. He now has Watmore fit again ( i should be careful mind what i say !) to see him getting 20 games this season would be great. Tough start though for him at Wycombe.
This guy is a notorious poster who always posts absolutely stupid things he would do or suggests!! You'll get used to him (also never replies to a quoted post!!)
Negativity is surely a self fulfilling prophecy, and has been one of our major hurdles to overcome for years. What chance does this bloke have when so many are willing him to fail from the off.
He'll get plenty of support at the games I expect. Social media is a place for people to vent a bit, if they think it's an awful appointment they'll say so. That doesn't mean it'll transfer in any way into the stadium. I've said I think it's poor, and that if he fails Donald will lose the support of almost all fans, but I'll be backing the bloke as much as I can against Tranmere, we all want him to prove us wrong
Who mentioned size of club? We are in this position probably due to changing managers faster than some people change pants.. One of these days we will give a manager time and space to build foundations..
wish him well in the job and will back him 100%, exactly as i have done with all managers down the years...if he eventually proves to have no real style of play and no obvious signs of how to change things as we struggle through games my backing will start to wane. On the other hand i obviously hope he will be able to get this squad playing to it's potential and start to move us up the leagues, hopefully with a promotion this season.
