DragonPhilJack - maybe I didn't write it clearly enough,but they were both separate problems,neither was associated with the other. I had the status.msi problem for months,the malware alarm for this site was in the last week and only on this site.
I Understand, maybe I didn't read you post correctly, anyway if you have an '.msi' problem next time, it's usually caused either through a bad install or uninstall which leaves some installation 'msi' 's left after a bad uninstall or the 'msi is corrupted on installation through disc read error, or bad packet download. Microsoft have a clean up tool which removes these 'msi' issues, the tool is called 'Windows installer clean up tool', just google it, and download it from Microsoft!.................
