We may never get to know reason. It could be cost or it could be the manager's lack of confidence on his initial assessments of injuries ie; Ayala.
Aside from feeling sorry for someone who has just lost their job (presumably a fairly high-earning one), does anyone really care?
I was never sure about Maltby to be honest. I cannot be the only person to have noticed that injury recovery times always used to get longer and longer once the clubs physios got their hands on players.
All of the players who have had long term serious injuries over the last few years, like Asbee, really rated Maltby as a top bloke.
The moment Simon Maltby left was the moment any hope of a return to the Premiership left too. Appalling decision.
I know a couple of Physio's in Hull and they both thought Maltby was fairly clueless. I've never met him, so I'm not in any position to judge him at all.
I think Percy was being sarcastic, to be fair. Maybe he's not the humourless twat we all thought he was.
Right, this joke appears to have backfired also, I was clearly joking. I think my new pal Viking Erik got it. Serious point though, we're now going through the usual "he's left, so he's ****" routine with the ****ing PHYSIO.
