Just hope that he doesn’t get distracted again too badly against Burnley or Leverkusen forcing them to play Ruddy who in truth might still be a better keeper.

Their sale of the competent Dubravka and lowball offers for Trafford worked out well for them.

Hope City either refuse to sell them Trafford or absolutely take their eyes out in selling him.

I’ve never had the admiration others do for Trafford, I’d be happy if the Mags sign him. He’s too much of a ‘confidence player’ for a goalkeeper. I prefer someone like Roefs, who seems a bit of a boring lad, who’ll just take the knocks and work on his game.

I've got no particularly strong feelings either way in terms of his ability as a keeper as I've only seen him in his games against us and for the England teams. He seems to have a knack with penalties but that doesn't make him unique or a great keeper. He also benefitted last season from playing behind a very dominant defensive unit, particularly their CB's.

He does seem to be a very confident lad, to the point of going on like a tit a fair bit. As such, he'd fit in no bother up the road.

I’ve never known a team get as many contentious VAR decisions go their way mind.

That Everton game gave their fans a much needed ego lift but in reality Everton were just ****. They came back to reality yesterday and now their fans are all over twitter praying that they play a weakened team against Leverkusen because they’re ****ting themselves over playing us.

And the fact we were DREADFUL against Fulham but bounce back in style like that goes to show that the mentality in this group is absolutely world class. This is the toughest league in the world and especially for newly promoted clubs it’s very easy to capitulate off the back off a bad performance and before you know it you’re on a winless streak.

Thinking back of the league one days and the PL era before that I can’t remember us coming back from a goal down or a few goals down very often, we were terrible chasing games. Now we thrive off it and that for me goes to show that if we do struggle during the AFCON period we’ll have no problem picking back up where we left off. RLB said it was important to start the season well because it gives the players belief and he was absolutely bang on. If we lose a few games all he needs to point to is earlier in the season back against Bournemouth, Arsenal, Chelsea..

What will Parker tell his Burnley players to look back to? Nearly taking a point off United away? Or Farke at Leeds? Scraping a lucky win against Everton? Scoring twice against City? Means nothing unless you take the points.

Sorry for the ramble on but what KLD and Co have done for this club obviously in the last 5 years but notably this season is nothing short of incredible.
It’s the best we’ve been ran since the 50s and arguably better as the focus and planning is second to none. Everything you worry about like will we cope without Jobe, can these players make the step up, etc… has already been thought through and planned for. The execution ain’t bad either. So much so I don’t worry about the club but just will we get a result not can we as we’re more than capable of beating anyone most days.

Great post marra. I started following the lads in 74 so missed the 50's.. Reid 1999/2000 seasons, Bruce with Bent, Welbeck and Asamh(sp) and Big Sam's 4 months are the only good times I can really look back on. Literally, we've never had it so good...

Hhhaaa'wwwwaaaaayyyyyy the lads

And I want to be tatties deep in Jennifer Lopez… given these two scenarios I fancy my chances better

This is what makes people laugh at them and how they don't understand why.

Newcastle won't have even built 'their stadium' by 2030.

This new CEO is making himself look stupid and taking the Mags along with him ...

... I hope he makes another stupid comment before the derby <laugh>

The same CEO who admitted that there no plans for a new stadium but they're working furiously towards it, despite there apparently being designs floating around internally of what they'd want it to be??? Sounds like a bullshit merchant using the old NUFC tactic of coming out with some positive statement/news/bollocks to distract from something going wrong knowing the mags will lap it up like performing seals.

New CEO again, now I would like him to confirm whether or not they are working furiously to this target as they are with the new stadium.
Dear me man, lining himself right up for another fall.
Keep digging sunshine. That lot up the road will lap all of this bollocks up until it dawns on them that it’s not happening.
None so blind as those who won’t see. Bless them..

Exactly this! Saying this distracts from the fact they are a poorly run club that have only had the modicum of success in comparison to what they have spent.

All of what they spend seems to be on the playing squad aswell which means anything they achieve will always be temporary.

Rudderless and immoral is a nice combo!

I could be wrong about him, but looking at his profile on LinkedIn and he seems to be someone who moves around every couple of years, including two different roles within the Madison Square Garden group in the last 4 years and 2 years at Real Madrid before that. Id reckon he'll have moved on from there well before 2030 looking at that.

Can’t work that one out, trying my best but failing

It's an oxymoron,Vic.

Also try thinking of it in dramatic 1980s voice over guy...

"In a world where tomorrow is already decided and yesterday still hasn't been concluded.....but there's been a glitch in tomorrow land...one maaannn must furiously work towaarrrrds something that hasn't been yet deciiiided...if he wants to surrvive... he must find awaaayyy" - Ant stars in.... "Heeya man, yi just divvint understaaannnd, man". A six in a row production.

I don't know what he's trying to achieve coming out with this bullshit, all it's going to do is make people laugh at them even more than they already are.

Fortunately the people in charge of my club live in the real world.

Id honestly say it's a distraction technique. Something isn't right so this comes out to distract the fans, they love the "biggest club in the world by 2030" ****e and don't pay attention to what's really happening. Maybe the Saudis have got wind of some discontent brewing, maybe they've realised that the new ground isn't happening or that can't spend whatever they want to win whatever, but to stop questions being asked they come out with this and the "Geordie faithful" lap it up. Hall and Shepherd did it regularly in the past.

I think you're probably spot on mate, I'd say he's gone too hyperbolic and it will ultimately be counterproductive, but Newcastle fans love this kind of bullshit.
