Rafa. The over the top adulation of the bloke was outstanding, despite him touting himself for other jobs. You'd think it was some great coup getting him, not that he'd been sacked off his last three clubs and that his best achievements in his career were nearly a decade earlier. And it's not like he's been a great success since leaving them.

Yee divvent undastaand man. Wor Rafa was a werld class manaja man

He used to go to both stadiums when he wasn’t working. I saw him at the SoL numerous times. He followed and supported both teams despite what the mags and media will tell you.

Right - I saw him interviewed on telly one day when we'd just beaten Man U at Roker and he was grinning from ear to ear through-out the whole interview.

(I think it was the game when Ferguson rested Beckham in the days before players were rested, but might be mixing that up.)

Savage is an idiot. He pulled out and goes nowhere near his head. Defender cheating. Never a card had to go
For the ball

Pub on Saturday I was playing (Flass Inn, Ushaw Moor) there was one. He was “yeah but you were only playing Leeds” when I pointed out that Leeds squad cost 90m+ and Newcastle’s, compared to those they’d failed to beat *(other than city) cost masss, he then went on the “yeah but almiron was our record signing” and started saying they didn’t spend money before the Saudis.

I then asked how much Joelinton cost, he said “£40m why?” When I sprained that Mike Ashley was the owner he started trying to argue!

They are literally all the same!

OUCH <laugh>

"Newcastle United haven’t lifted a domestic trophy since 1955 and they haven’t been champions since 1927, the year before Dixie Dean netted 60 in a season.
Like their kit, the Magpies glory days were back in an era of black and white.
Even before the Toon Army embraced the lucre of the sovereign wealth fund of the House of Saudi though, they have attempted to cultivate a reputation that is rather more inflated than what their team has ever done. Put bluntly by the home crowd on Saturday night: “F*ck all, you’ve never won f*ck all.”

"When Newcastle’s supporters descended upon Wembley for last year’s Carabao Cup final, many broadcasters would have kidded you into thinking they were the only success-starved outfit with a major fanbase, even though unlike most major conurbations outside of the capital such as Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield, Nottingham and Bristol, they’re a one-club city."
