Talksport last night was f**kin joke. Caught some of it on the way home from work. The Mag ****athon is in full swing. You'd think an actual travesty had taken place the way Durham and co went on. A team they all laughed at 3 years ago. Getting the rule book out and quoting parts. And no, I'll not be getting behind them because they're English in the champions league.

I can't really add any more to the posts all over this group and pretty much the whole of social media about the penalty award last night. As I type this I'm listening to Talk Sport and not one person has yet to say it should have been a pen.

We all know it goes against the UEFA handball rule, the eight minutes seem hard to account for, the VAR official who asked the ref to look at the penalty call has now been stood down from tonight's CL game, and the fact PSG were thrown a lifeline when their chairman holds a position within UEFA is always going to ring some alarm bells. Sadly nothing we can do about this now, we won't get the points, nor will the game be replayed and we move on and hope the chips fall in our favour in the final group game.

All that aside I can't remember a time in 50+ years of following Newcastle when I have been as proud. The same 11 players for 98 minutes against one the most expensive squads in the world in their own backyard, and they got a result from a penalty nobody else feels they should have been awarded.

We came out of pot 4 into the Group of Death. Many rival fans of the so-called Big Six were aghast we were even in the CL when their clubs weren't.

For a cobbled-together team, how good were we? So many talented young players who will only get better. When players start coming back we will start to see a strength in depth we haven't had so far this season, but are still doing great.

Getting into the next round, and it is still possible, would have helped us with FFP but whatever happens a lot more people around the world will now be aware of the team we call United. The quality of football we play and our fantastic squad.

They're willing to sacrifice points now so when they go in for the players on loan from Saudi in January, they can say "well, we were having to put 3 goal keepers on the bench in November, we need these players". I think they think everyone's thick. For the last 2 years they've had EVERYTHING go their way, well the rules have bitten them on the arse, imagine that. Anyway,Draw was a fair result considering PSG battered them. Funny old game is football.

worst ref decision ever! Ignoring all of the ones that have gone in their favour and gained them points!

Reactions: The Professor
After the draw, the mirror decided to write an article which included this paragraph:

“They've since been relegated to League One but are now back in the second tier, and currently sit three points outside the play-offs. But fans have had to look on with envy while Newcastle, with Saudi investment, are playing in the Champions League and fighting at the top end of the Premier League.”

Not once have I been envious!
