**** me, the Premier League assurances that they were nothing to do with the Saudi State was a load of bullshit and everyone knew it but they haven't even tried to hide it.

If only the Premier league had some balls to do something about it, I mean they were legally binding assurances weren't they? :emoticon-0140-rofl: or even the football media raise pressure for it to be dealt with or at least answered by the Premier league, instead they will all be fawning over them being top 6 and finally being where their great support deserves etc...

Government backed aren't they? They have uncle Boris to thank for the takeover.

Counted 7 skunk tops in Newcastle Airport 2 of which were on my flight!
Non made my transfer coach thank goodness and didn't see any more until the same 2 rocked up for the flight home. The brainless TFG.

Seeing more and more people wearing that top in Sunderland now aswell. Lad strutting around Asda leechmere at the weekend with a air of "aye, deal with it" about him.

Government backed aren't they? They have uncle Boris to thank for the takeover.

"Boris Johnson’s government worked for months to encourage the PL to approve the controversial Saudi Arabia-backed takeover of Newcastle United, a Guardian investigation can reveal.

The extensive efforts to facilitate the deal, led by Johnson’s minister for investment, Lord Gerry Grimstone, were made despite the government, and Johnson, repeatedly saying publicly that they had no involvement in the takeover talks.

Grimstone became involved in discussions with the then Premier League chairman Gary Hoffman, and Saudi representatives, apparently up to the office of the crown prince Mohammed bin Salman, to try to help secure a takeover the government considered to be in the UK’s strategic and economic interests. Grimstone’s work appears to have extended as far as trying to broker a solution to the Saudi piracy of Premier League and other sports TV rights bought by the Qatari broadcaster BeIN, which was seen as a barrier to the takeover being approved."
