Yeah. i switched over to watch The Simpsons as soon as Howe appeared on screen with his sleazy smug grin. Makes my skin crawl The way the mags fawn over him is embarrassing (although why should we expect any different?) and they completely ignore the fact he was 3rd or 4th choice and their main target turned them down only to join Aston Villa a few months later
As I said earlier in the thread I think part of the reason Di Canio took such issue with him was we were playing at the time, he had been rested and asked to not attend the SoL for the match. He was then caught over the limit not long after the match finished. Di Canio probably already had him marked down as a player that took the piss and was trying to get rid anyway.
Consult with him and see if he is willing to disclose how much he was over the limit etc... I'm sorry but clubs will keep players playing if they can. Our two recent examples were Sess (class on his day which was infrequent but Di Canio probably didn't like him and was already looking to get rid) and Gibson (who was everything that was wrong with the type of player we were selling and smashed up several cars and lucky not to hurt anybody!). If it was a player that was generally hard working and doing well for us we would likely not take a hardline! Quick edit: not saying it's right like. I mean look at how the club handled the Johnson situation!
100% mate, it could equally be I'm going to consult with him and see what punishment is OK to give him as I'm scared to upset him. Honestly don't think the club will get too involved, clubs look at these things different depending if that pampers is important to the team on the pitch imo.
OK, let me spell it out as nicely as I can. This board is a Sunderland board, not a scum unwashed board. So with respect don't post just cos a few soft arses talk to you on go back on your beheaded board and talk to them thick geordie bastards. I ****ing hate geordies. Now that was as polite as I can put it. Remember the Strawberry, what a day that was.
Why do you hate me, a Geordie, Bob By the way, we've all got b&w and r&w mates, including you, no doubt, and Hatty is one of the good-uns
I dont know Somb personally but he has made friends amongst the veterans on this board, meet ups etc, so 'politely' asking him to skidaddle is more than a trifle unjust.
It's not as an individual, it's the geordies I detest, sorry if some of you like them I don't. I have 1 mag who works for me, our rule is not footy banter that could stir up a issue.
Bob, Sombrero is NOT a Geordie, whilst our own mod Gordon Armstrong is. Maybe if you substituted the word Geordie for Mag it would come across better
Somb is a cracking lad who lives amongst some very well known Sunderland lads, some you'd definitely know. He's respected by them and most people on here and for good reason, hes a good poster and has been for many years. You come on here when you're banned or having 'time off' RTG. No offence to you but there's been far too much of people, who rarely post, coming on here trying to lay the law down. If it was a choice between the two of you I'd choose him every time.
There can be a big difference between a mag and a geordie. Many Geordies support Sunderland and always have, whatever the bloviating, and on the make , John Hall said.
