Another random idea for giving people more involvement:
The newspaper contains a main article by the journalist then an advert section. All players can (if they choose) submit short messages to be published anonymously in the advert section each day.
As an example, the vigilante could announce his next target/s for discussion without revealing himself.
I like that, would have to be a word limit applied or something though. Last time (think it was Danilo) did a a full newspaper lol
That was funny. But he's the journalist so that's fine. The adverts should only be like twitter messages in length.
Slightly different angle, rather than journalist, how about making them the Editor instead. All players submit a report and the Editor decides how to use them.
What about the timing though? The journalist and players make submissions to MITO who just posts them, but you would need the players to submit to MITO who submits to the editor who then submits back?
Each player submits their report prior to nightfall. The Editor/Journalist report isn't released until 10am. In real tabloid world, everything is a day behind anyway.
Well the journalist's investigation report would be up to date but the other players like the investigator would have the delay
If Editor, I wouldn't give them investigation powers. Have cops in the game, these send reports to the editor too. Maybe release the paper a little later.
If more than one cop, will they be able to communicate with each other? If so, they could come up with a system to convince the Editor.
Then maybe the editor should know who sends what information so they can try to work out who has what role rather than just posting what they happen to like and ignoring whatever they don't like.
But there would need to be a reason not to reveal his sources identities, such as the different costs to kill different townspeople I thought about previously. And the editor wouldn't want to reveal their own identity unless they become a target.
Cops should have a private board IMO, that's more realistic.
