Oh No. I would rather keep Mclean. Sorry but Sinclair is not an improvement.

Exactly - so the rumours of Lionel Messi (especially after tonight) are true then ? <whistle>

I am quite happy to wait and see what AP and NB do in the summer. Whoever they bring in will be an improvement on some of the dross that NP brought in. IF and a BIG IF Mclean does go then yes i would agree it will be an upgrade. I just dont see anyone coming in for Mclean. Time will tell.

My view is that MaClean may go if an acceptable bid comes in. I would say Brighton could be a real possibility in that it would team him up with Mac-Smith again. That would release money for another striker.

Why would Barmby bother coming out and saying that if he wants rid? He could have just stayed quiet.

I disagree with some when it comes to OLM, 95% the stuff he says turns out to be accurate, and the other 5% is usually only wrong because of an unexpected complication or something falling through for whatever reason. But I don't see how this one is going to work out.

A few weeks ago i would have agreed with you. But rumours abound down south that Poyet may go to the PL and CMS wants out of there. Interesting to note CMS goal productivity has fallen alot in 2012.!!!

Another option could be that Mclean is sold for an "undisclosed" fee. The club claim it was too good an offer to turn down and he leaves with his pride intact as he is not "sold" because he is not good enough but the fee was "silly money"...everyone wins

Do you have to reply to every post in a thread? Can't you just condense it into one post and then debate from there when people reply to you, rather than replying 4 or 5 posts in a row with the same crap?

I can't be the only one who thinks this surely?

I hope St Nick spends the summer teaching Mac, and developing him as a striker, and he's still with us, all refreshed and better for having been coached by someone he could easily emulate in style, skill and ability, and all you haters **** off.

Get Deano working with him in preseason, he knows how to score. Could give McLean some tips.

I don't actually think he's got many haters, in fact, for a fairly mediocre player he's remarkably popular.

I dont think Poyett will go anywhere fast. Hes had a good season at Brighton and they love him down there. I cant see that there is a club that would want him in the Premier until he has proved himself by taking a club uop to the Prem. If he was to get MaClean, and by the way I dont actually want to see the lad leave, then I reckon CMS would stay at Brighton. The very fact that he hasnt been too successful down there this season would also mean that there may not be a hell of a lot of interest in him anyway.

This^. Everyone likes mclean because he puts in everthing he has, game in game out. If only Stewart could learn this from Aaron. The fact is though,he is not a good enough player for this level. It's as clear as,you being just a little bit strange (Tickles).

Back to Stockbrokers point. Well that is exactly what is going to happen. It's just too easy to read between the lines. Surely people at other clubs can see this too though ! We need to be a bit cuter ! Not that i have the answers,i don't.

At the end of the day,you just get behind the club !

McLean is the most expensive signing we've made since we got relegated so I don't think it's unreasonable to say that after the big 3 (McShane, Ghilas, Olofinjana) he's set to be right up at the top end of our pay scale for next season. If I'd been AM or his agent I'd have been negotiating my wages based on the principal that if we were prepared to pay more for him than anyone else then we must rate him at least as highly so the wages should be inline with players like Fryatt, Simpson, and Rosenior. (Maybe not Fryatt since they were negotiating at the same time)

He's not our first choice striker, isn't going to be our left winger, and we're trying to get King to play right wing (based on us not having used him up front yet) so McLean won't be in the first XI. That being the case offloading him to free up the wages will allow us to either sign somebody who will be in the first team and justifying the wages, or someone on the bench on lower wages with the rest going to part fund another player.

I for one would be willing to put money on Mclean to score 15+goals next season. People can be really fickle sometimes, players can become dire or brilliant one season from another, I could list a few examples but there are so many that I'm sure you can figure it out. I'm not saying he hasn't adjusted to our club yet, I just feel that an off season and new start can sometimes change a player. I think he can make it in his league, why are people suggesting he's only League 1 material? kicking a ball into the back of the next is the same no matter what league you are in, granted goalkeepers will be better... The hard bit is getting into positions and creating chances before booting the ball, he's clearly done that this year but his control and shooting has been horrible at times. He could very well hit some form and score regularly considering the chances he got into.

No one agrees with me? I know everything's pointing to the opposite but form is a funny thing.

McLean and CMS worked as a unit. You can't just take one of a formidable partnership and expect them to do brilliantly. Especially with a lone striker.
