Wear yellow that conversation cannot be proven, it is Evra's word against Suarez's.
I think Liverpool are within their right to say what they said in their statement.....but at the same time an attempt to appeal would not have worked, and the decision couldn't legally be challenged in any other sort of way I believe....? Maybe for fraud but I wouldn't say that that's true on any account, and it couldn't be proven either. The appeal wouldn't work because there's no new evidence.......even if there was another Independent Commission....they have no reason to change the verdict. I don't agree with the methods by which the original Commission came to their verdict...as I don't think there's enough proof...it's based on "probability" and "believability"...things which can quite easily be influenced by Evra being black (so automatically there is a social assumption that he is more likely to be a victim), the reputation Suarez has gained in previous events and in the media from this case....and because both parties have legal aid....and help with their statements so it's more likely to be calculated and further from the truth.
However.....the Commission could not really rule the other way, due to the way in which the FA's rules are worded.....and perhaps because of the way in which Civil rulings work. For me....the FA's rules have been highlighted as unjust, totally wrong, and as Liverpool said......make it plausible for this to happen on a regular basis, regardless of whether the person is guilty or not (which..despite the ruling.....Suarez has not been proven of either)
