Who does one vote for

If you hate the tories
But are anti mass immigration

Asking for a friend

The SDP that didn’t join the Lib Dems during the merger are still going and are centre-left economically and centre-right socially and want to restrict immigration.

Oh ye of little faith.

Don't think it'll make page 8, mind.

People have managed to be civil, so it should at least last until the results are in. <ok>

It was a two horse race in the run up (LibDem/Reform) and is looking more like a one horse race now.

Luke was a great boxer and seems a decent enough fella, but he's absolute no idea what he's doing with regard to this position and it really needed some more than just an ambassador for the area. He'll be hopeless, sadly.

I was reading a big study on knife crime and the sorts
Thats spread all over
The reason is drugs

Im wanting death penalty for drug dealers
And the ilk

Assuming Luke wins, what happens next I wonder?

Presumably he's been backed in the campaign by Reform party resources but once they've got their win I can't imagine they'll have any interest in how he does. Presumably someone will give him some support in doing the job but I don't know who. Might he end up giving it up when the scale and nature of the job becomes clear to him? Might he get some good political people around him and make it work? Very unclear to me.

The modern SDP want to restrict net migration to 50,000 if that’s your main issue.

Regarding the intersection between crime and immigration, I saw an interesting statistic. It was the rate of arrests (not convictions, just arrests) in the UK by country of origin (not race or ethnicity). Albanian nationals in the UK were top by quite a big margin. 206 Albanian nationals out of every 1,000 in the UK have been arrested. For UK nationals, it was 0.12 for every 1,000. Staggeringly high.

I think that one was incorrect as it was actually 206/10,000 once clarified. Still comfortably at the top mind

The corruption of water companies

Also

Why the **** is it cheaper to travel 4 hours by car than is it to get a train? As a solo traveller
Trains in the uk are absolutely disgusting

SDP are centre-left to left-wing on economic issues so it wouldn’t surprise me if they wanted to regulate and nationalise utilities as well.

The fact Farage is the only politician who’s (for his own grift) suggested that as the way forward for British infrastructure is embarrassing. Then you have some people calling Labour socialists.

I think the time since our last General Election shows the issue with short term party politics

I totally understand that Labour have done some unpopular things. They’ve been foolish on many fronts if you ask me. But at the same time do people really expect things to change within two years? I might be wrong but aren’t deportations up since the GE? Isn’t that the start of that change on boat crossings, for example?

That coupled with headline grabbing quotes from politicians and negative hype inducing press on everything and I suspect the country will never get the actual change it needs.

There has to be a better way than what we do at the moment but I really am not sure what that is.

I don’t like Farage. In fact, I can’t stand him. I think he’s a grifter. However, I have seen over a dozen tweets by Labour’s official account yesterday about what the NHS would look like under Reform, saying it would be £10,000 to get an appendix removed. It’s just pathetic. NHS cultists cannot envision healthcare that isn’t the infinite black hole that is the NHS or the predatory American system. They must think those are the only two options.

This is the kind of thing that we should spend more time talking about, instead of being endlessly bogged down by small boats and the transgender boogieman.

I've picked up cheaper flights to the US than some UK rail fares.

The trans stuff is a perfect example
If you read the news

Youd think half the population was a trans person trying to play womens sports or go in toilets
Its like 0.1% of the population

But its easy news for the dumb masses

Real issues dont need to talk about

So the corrupt get away scot free

Its tale as old as time

It may be true that an American style system isn't the only alternative to the NHS as it is now, but it's obviously the one that people like Farage would want. He's clearly very cosy with big American business and constantly promotes the UK supporting their interests, as with his recent talk of lowering our food standards to allow American chlorinated chicken. Not that he'd be eating it of course.

Did you just assume the gender?
Do you think it might be the classic 'don't look here, look at that over there ' tactic?
