Gloryhunter Bayern had won one league in 68, now they have 25 and 5 European Cups. When you started supporting Arsenal in the 60s they were way ahead of Bayern!
Try as they might, there's something that just escapes these wums and doesn't compute in their brains. It's called the facts
The fact that CFC has been blubbing all over this thread about Arsenal, tells you everything you need to know about how desperate he is.
As UTD have more fans from London then every London team combined. The title should say; Londons second most successful team and a lot more entertaining then the Cavbus team from down the road, you know the one that has a small fanbase and can only get about 30k fans to see the parade.
Well done. Things change. We won a Full Members Cup and ZDS in the first 20 years I followed (actually went to games, home and away) Chelsea. Since 97 we have won loads <biggrin>
Only Arsenal have won more league titles than Sunderland in London. That tells you all you need to know about London clubs. The last being in the 30s. So what have the rest been doing all this time?
This thread is an utter embarrassment from start to finish! On Gooners would have the sheer arrogance to proclaim themselves "London's most successful club" when they don't have a European trophy to their name! I'd laugh, if only it wasn't so sad and so desperate.
Didn't Sunderland win most of their titles when Victoria was on the throne and half the players were fighting wars in countries that don't exist any more? What have they been doing for the last 70 years?
Thats my point though. We've done next to nothing, yet somehow only Arsenal have won more titles. And only three were when Victoria was on the throne and obviously no one from the NE has ever joined the armed forces, ever. I think we're twinned with Switzerland.
My point is, who gives a **** about football back then? It was barely the same sport. Maybe cut the North-East off and let it be independent so Newcastle and Sunderland can be the world's two baldest men fighting over its largest comb
