They did do things though. Corruption. The thick greedy bastards needed to act from day , but they let it in and then ****ed about without doing anything decisive.. They then let the idiots back out too soon lockdown 1 needed another month

All this for one ****ty dayThe simple fact of the matter is, the government will open things up for Christmas and deal with the consequences in January.

It's one dayIt's not just the one day though. They will see it as a 2 week period before and after Christmas where the economy can boom. Tie them over until the new year and review it then. It literally is kicking the can down the road.

we can’t keep opening up and shutting down society indefinitely though. Apparently the immunity for this virus only works for a short while so the vaccine will too.
And it’s the psychological aspect for a lot of people of seeing family and celebrating together. The mental impact on people and family is extremely important and should not be underestimated. It's not just the one day though. Get rid of Boris and the Tories.I know mate. How the **** do we get out of this though.
They can get over itAnd it’s the psychological aspect for a lot of people of seeing family and celebrating together. The mental impact on people and family is extremely important and should not be underestimated.
Its not that simple though. Mental health issues are through the roof and suicide rates are way higher than usual, partly due to the impact of lockdown. My daughter has seen 2 of her friends commit suicide this year due to isolation. They can get over it
No. You have to take people with you in this situation, rightly or wrongly. With every “stick” (the lockdown) you need a “carrot” (Christmas). The problem, IMO, has been the lack of a clear plan and selling that plan to the Public. The plan needs to show what has to be done and why from start to finish albeit without a set timescale. Also the plan needs to make sure that people are not losing out in comparison to everyone else. They can get over it

It's a terrible conundrum finding the balance beteeen containing a global pandemic that takes lives vs the impact of lockdown (both economically and wellbeing). As I said, it's a no win situation - regardless of who is in government.
I agree, the government have made errors of judgement, have given mixed messages and messed up communication, have made decisions that impact particular social groups and appear to havemade ridiculous decisions about key things like Track & Trace (quite possibly ti line certain.pockets). But the bottom line is, nobody would be able to make the right decisions in this situation that will please everybody.
Will Pouchy not object to you being at his for that length of time?exactly. Virtually all governments are in the same boat. There isn’t a manual for this. Tock and a hard place. With dark nights and a north of gym closures I’m personally gonna find it tough as the gym was my way of de stressing. I’ll literally be closing my laptop after work and staring at walls for a month.
Another example of Sturgeon and her bad timing....
