I'm confused, I came on here a few weeks back and was told quite clearly, you were being entertained and that was ALL that mattered - See Smugs for details.

I gently advised your pretty football and possession would win you nowt, 64% possession tonight. Obviously there is also the other theory of relativity, that I'm often told...

Charlton
Rotherham
Sheffield Wednesday

they must have all upped their game against you. :cheesy:

"On Saturday, we were really poor, there's no denying that, but I didn't feel today that we were ever out of the game," he said.

"I felt like we were the better side in between the boxes, and I felt they were the better side in both boxes.

"They defended their box better than us, and obviously they scored the three goals and were a bit sharper.

"But I don't think it was a reason to throw the baby out with the bathwater today as much.

Anyone? Anyone got any ****ing clue what this oompa loompa is wibbling on about?

Whees this cocknocker?

It's a wierd thing with these streaks his teams have .

No doubt he can get a team playing some good football. At these times, the buzzwords, cliches and banal overspeak will go over the players heads. They will filter out the bits they need.

But when any team is struggling, at any level, what you want to hear are quick, simple and very direct instructions. Does Johnson have this ability? Or does he long wind it when the team are lost in a game?

This might explain the horror runs his teams always seem to have.

A lot of people made that journey tonight and they deserve better than another meek surrender.
When was the last time Sunderland won 6 league games in a row? @Prehab26?

I agree with Johnson n that we were better team between the boxes and they were the better team in the boxes. They defended better than us and were clinical. If one of our 3 or 4 chances comes off it turns the game. Instead, every time we have “that” chance they waltz down the other end and score. There was no way in a million years we deserved to lose that 3-0 in football terms. But Flanagan is the Flanagan we all saw last season, and Doyle literally looks like he’s lost out there.

Doyle wouldn’t even be in the squad fir me next league game. He needs to be out of the side.

I am still trying to understand why this bloke was not sacked in the summer, it was so obviously the correct thing to do
I said at the time if we kept him on he would be gone by October, I was wrong, 'cos he is still here.

Exactly. Based on the limited bits and pieces that I've seen, what he said sounds like an honest assessment of what happened. Don't see why people get so upset with what he says. There are clearly some issues that need working on in defence but you don't sack a manager because of that. He is under pressure because we've lost three on the trot but any manager would be.

This goes back to my points made in the summer.

I said I wouldn’t blame Johnson if we are not promoted, and I won’t.

It comes down to the lack of investment once again.

I’m not ruling out promotion, we have the same chance as we had last year, when we also majorly lacked investment into the team.

I finished watching these play away after the 6-0 defeat at Derby in 1991, went back in 2004 for the f a cup semi and look what happened, christ the north of England teams are in a **** state at the minute, what the hell is wrong ?, we are at our lowest point in history now.

I’m amazed at how fans think by changing the manager is the automatic answer.... it NEVER has been that for Sunderland, we are in a bad run... we’ve had them before we will have them again whoever the manager is. To call for Johnson’s sacking now is so fickle, but for people managing our club must know that about about a section of our support
