Liverpool game a good indicator.

Despite losing there was plenty to like in the game at Anfield, and maybe a bit of a reality check.
Firstly Pool deserved the win and bossed much of the play, without looking likely to put on a cricket score, apart from 10 mins after their first goal.
A bit like us for much of the season, they had all the ball, passed it everywhere, but didn't threaten our well set up defence. The first goal was all Salah, though I thought he pushed our defender before he crossed for the goal. The second was the kind of goal from top drawer players.
For our part we were stiff not to pull back both goals in a 15 minute period where we looked absolutely great.
So we were more positive, more direct, more dangerous all of which are good news.
We got absolutely nothing from the ref either, though nothing too controversial or game changing.
Less good was the set up, with Hazard proving for the god knows how many times, he is no centre forward. Then when sanity prevails, the wrong striker comes on and does bugger all. Again.
It is a very blurred line whether players are underperforming due to form, or to our set up and Sarris style.
That said, much better than a month ago and more signs of a softening in Managers stubbornness.

 

We had enough chances, didn’t take them. Rudiger going off didn’t help too.

 

I never expected much from that game. Salah’s second was unstoppable so there’s not much that can done about that.
We’re we good? Well, we weren’t bad and we certainly looked a good deal better than we have for most of the season.

I’ll be delighted if I’m wrong and Sarri is finally pulling all the pieces together. I’ll be even happier if this is the start of a long term vision for Chelsea.

Enjoyed the game apart from the result......We weren't totally out played and on another day we may of got a goal or two.
Thought our keeper did very well apart from one flap and i'm no fan of Hazard up front.Was pleased RLC and CHO started.

 

We were a bit unlucky but I’d have liked to see us with Hazard on the left from the start. I’m surprised we went that since we knew they’d press so high so I thought we might have gone for an out ball with Giroud through the middle to get us up the pitch.

Good to see Loftus-Cheek, Hudson Odoi and Emerson keep getting picked though. Think they’ve all played a part in our better performances recently so hopefully they’ll keep getting picked, still got plenty to play for before the season ends.

 

Not an awful performance but with all other results going against us makes top 4 look increasingly unlikely so all eggs in the Europa league.

There are brain dead supporters at every club, and this is a good example of how dumb some really are. Apparently a young kid with some disability issues was hurt. Hope the rock apes are proud of themselves.

Maybe next time a section of our fan base show themselves up as ****s, we can push all the blame on to the authorities and spend 30 years harassing and threatening people until they are forced to change the narrative and make our fans look completely blameless........Good idea?
