take out the top 4 and we were 2nd best of the rest which is how it is, You can moan about the owner ... can moan about the manager ..... moan about not have a good player in this that or the other position. ON the day it is what is the result ... whether poor reffing... should have had a penalty .... OR!

football is a funny old game ... the object is not to lose ... LM's STRATEDGY!?

The prem is basically a distinct 3 segments a top 7-9 / middle 8 - 13/ 14 & bottom 13-20
championship is similar a top 5/6 [ heavily dependant on parachute payments ]middle 7 - 17 group of [ 6 -8 teams been there a couple seasons ] and a bottom 8
 
He did well with what he had upfront powderpuff.
The playoffs showed how far behind we are 6-0 says it all it was embarrassing and I lay that firmly at the feet of those that brought the two donkeys in up front.
Jan we needed reinforcements and that did not come why because SL laid out on two donkeys the recommendations of someone within the club.
They need sacking.

I agree, but now that’s history, means nothing. What I’m concerned about is how we manage moving forward

City is in the 7 -17 group [ comprises a mix of promoted teams [ 2 ] failed last season hopefuls [ 4 ] 4 "regulars" last couple seasons has been CITY! QPR / PNE/ STOKE its hard to see any of these in top 6 next season? But likely all will be in top 7 - 17 for most of it!

Moving forward I would have said this past season was a consolidation one, and 25/26 would be a serious attempt at top 6! But football is a funny old game!!!! 24/25!!!!!!
Should Manning leave, media likes to whip up storms, and occassionally they do get it right. LM must know how "better" the squad can be in 25/26. IS IT A GAMBLE going back to Norwich? He would start again and be on a 3 year contract? but what if after a season or 2 maybe still in the Championship, job then becomes dodgy!!! so gets sacked and then has to move again .. where might that be? Ipswich is close... Lincoln ? a few east midlands clubs..

might it be worth it for just a return for 2 or 3 years...! bear in mind his other children need to be settled in a school and have a friends base ........ he could likely stay in west country at City for quite a few years just keep city up near the top [ 8 ] or get to Prem? he would likely not be sacked if he got up there then dropped bsck but stayed in top 8 or so!

Wright was here last season on loan with an option to buy so nothing to do with Manning. Grimshaw - might be but we need a Keeper as we have let Gunn go and Long is as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike unless you want him in which case he is brilliant.

The total lack of information on BCFC's official site is not unusual, but on such an important transaction that could hinder out future you would at least think there would be a short blurb about Norwich approaching Liam. On the subject as to who brought in the 2 donkeys the culprit has never been announced and I might suggest that the firings start with that department with whoever was in charge of that failure and I suspect we all know where the arrow points. Big Lansdown's recent changes to the personnel structure through Companies House has to be a concern unless someone comes out and says what exactly is achieved by this move. Bristol City always wander the backroads on any business dealings and failing to keep the supporters fully informed as to the reasoning behind these decisions is yet another negative from the team management. What happens if this Manning deal falls flat on it's face, as it has taken forever to get whatever was proposed over the finish line, does it necessarily mean that Liam will stay or has all of the rhetoric damaged his tenure irreparably? I can't see any way he can backtrack on this one as too many comments and suppositions have gone under the bridge making his departure essential for everybody to save some face.

Maybe the new manager will play them two up top.
Maybe Mayulu comes back with a point to prove, after all after the first two games you loved him.

His confidence is shot to pieces at the moment, but there could be something there.

Why don’t you wait and see what happens.

Armstrong I may agree with you, he’s had his chances and can’t see it turning for him.

Two up top Manningball would never do that <laugh> -We were crying out for two up top last season.

I hope our new manager is far more flexible.

They both look league one/two strikers to me on this season.

At the beginning I thought Fally had a lot going for him, had a decent first touch, was a bit raw, but had an eye for goal. Then he just fell off a cliff, his confidence looked shot and he seemed not to care.
He obviously didn’t suit Mannings style, as he doesn’t have the qualities to play up front on his own.
Maybe a new head coach will be more able to play more to his strengths, because I think there is a player in there, I hope so.

Agree re Armstrong, he’s had his chances but he just isn’t a goal scorer. I hope I’m proved wrong.

He had money, he said many, many times that he did, but he wouldn’t spend it unless he thought it improved the squad - therefore, he was clearly happy with what he had. Also, post Covid, very few teams had money, so he was operating under the same restrictions as every other manager/team, except those with parachute payments. Let’s not forget that he was backed to spend almost £1.5m on a CB from L1, when we had ‘no money’….
As usual the Nige fanboys don’t deal in reality…
I think Nige’s stubbornness didn’t sit well with the board and results weren’t great, so they got rid of him, similar to Steve Cotterill.
