I've put Bruno and VDB as Attacking Midfielders, and put Fred and McTominay as Central Midfield. But if we're going to bring in a CM, ideally a box to box midfielder, I do wonder whether we still need to get rid of one more out of them four.

Our results and performances dipped immediately after greenwood was suspended by the club. Our attack was seriously hampered. The club of course did the right thing in the circumstances. The backups were just not up to the mark.
I don't see him coming back. The abuse will be unreal and tbh the club can do without it. Clean break, clear out all the trouble. We can move forward without him.
Besides, Greenwood wasn't any better than them two.

This isn't a guilty/not guilty opinion on Greenwood, however, regardless of the outcome he is tainted and will carry that stain into out squad. We don't need it, the new manager doesn't need it (and the constant press questioning) so, regardless of any potential, he isn't worth keeping.
100% agree. Looking at the size of that squad, somewhere along the way we forgot no player's bigger than the club. We've been **** scared of letting anyone go. Fck it, Greenwood can go, we'll move on. And aren't we doing a rebuild anyway?
I would add that we bring back James Garner, Ethan Laird and Tedgen Menghi from their loans and integrate into the squad.
I think Garner is a better player than McTominay but has admittedly been playing at championship level.
Laird looked a great attacking right full back at Swansea. Again, premier league is a step up but he looks decent to me.
Got a feeling ETH might have a look at Martial.
He's certainly a better player than Rashford if his head and attitude is straight.
I'd have Henderson leaving too, but who is going to match his £150k salary ffs? Ridiculous contract to give him.

Some compassion is necessary, I think. The dumb boy was still 20 at the time of the egregious assault. But at his young age, he can be rehabilitated and the club should support that effort. I don’t think he should simply be castigated for image. My reasoning is not just for football reasons, but societally, we shouldn’t simply write off individuals because of a crime committed if they have shown signs of being accountable and seeking a chance to become better.

This is obviously not an effort to excuse the assault. But I don’t think default castigation of the player just to save face is of value. The club should support him in an effort to help him turn a new page. If he then proves to be beyond help, then act accordingly. But from on field events, he hasn’t struck me as a hot head. So there may be hope for him.
We are talking about allegations of Rape here, no room for compassion. Whether it gets to trial or not this club cannot have the likes of Greenwood and the stain and taint he brings with him around the place. Let Villa or Newcastle take on the new Ravel Morrison.

I think that if you play for this club you need to have high standards. You just cannot behave as any 19-20 year old would behave. Guilty or not. Players have to be above reproach all the times. Yes this means some restrictions and not putting themselves in situations that could lead to accusations. But the rewards are huge and worth it. Ferguson insisted on absolute discipline. No one able to drink himself silly, no one to put themselves in compromising situations which could affect their careers.
Let’s face it, Greenwood isn’t the only thing wrong with the club at the moment if we are talking high standards. If he’s to be found guilty, he will face the consequences. If he’s found not guilty, then there’s an opportunity for the club to help nurture him into a better person as part of the overall reset for the club.
Unfortunately an accusation of this type regardless of outcome is the end for a young man in a high profile position.
I must admit after hearing the recording that to me it sounded like a role play game between kids.
The girl didn't sound either frightened or angry "mason i don't want to" and Greenwood sounded like he was playing a bad porno part "i just want to shag your twat".
Nothing about it sounded or felt threatening but far from normal.

There is a recording yes, it's completely ambiguous and proves nothing. It does sound nasty, the bits that are out there.
I actually thought the photos were worse, although, again, there's no actual proof Greenwood did all, or indeed any, of them.
I don't even think she's made the complaint herself? It's being investigated but to press charges the police would need more than what I've seen anyway.
United are better off just letting him go, he cant be allowed back regardless. He'd probably do well abroad, once he's cleared.
