Vidic, Stam, Rio, Butt, Irwin, Keano, Rooney etc - were all players how were good at their game but also carried a physical threat. if Rangnick is to be believed he could be the type of player we need. Players who can physically compete. Phillips is good and I wouldn’t mind having him. I think we have to be careful not to overload our team with bruisers and card attracting types who will miss key matches through suspension. We need the right balance. It’s primarily a question of attitude. City and the RS have talented players but they have the right attitude. Ours don’t have it but who knows they may recover it under a good manager.

This is spot on. I've been saying for a while our players don't win headers, don't win 50/50's and easily get outmuscled off the ball. Pogba has aspects of this but I'd also include Bruno, Fred, Maguire, Rashford, Lindelof, AWB.

Shaw is one who seems to do well with the physical side, but his problems lie elsewhere at the moment.

I just believe that OGS had it in mind to rotate Cavani and Greenwood as CF. Trying to accommodate CR not only reduced Greenwood's game time but also disturbed Bruno whose game fell off the perch the second CR arrived.

Neither has played though and it's through no fault of Ronado. Cavani's been injured a lot and Greenwood's predicament is his own making. Even before his arrest, Greenwood had been poor tbh.

Bruno's form turned to **** from March of last year and hasn't recovered since.

Not like he's strived all his life to become one of the best players to have kicked a ball, all the trophies and personal footballing honours, the fact he lives his life primarily to be physically fit enough to play at the highest level at the age of 37.

He done all that for his personal image whilst playing in a country where he's largely hated and perceived as the pantomime villain, yet feeds off that **** and answers it by performing on the pitch. Go figure!

Tbh it was the same in his last season with us in 08/09. Really don't get it. The bloke's a true club legend. Without him we wouldn't have had one of the most successful periods in the club's history.

I don’t blame CR for our problems but I’ve said quite early when Ole was around that there was trouble brewing in the camp. Primarily because Ole was simply not good enough to manage Ronaldo. He is used to being managed by elite managers and play in a very good team. Not for a struggling man whom he had no respect for as a manager and a struggling team with players who cannot play to his level and to his expectations, It’s not his fault if they brought him with no clear plan of how to use him. Yes, things were not rosy just before he came but he definitely put the cat amongst the pigeons. Ole was found out as was Maguire as captain. Things went quickly downhill.

As bad as things are at the moment and many first elevens are being castigated as not being good enough, cast your minds to the start of the season. Almost every one said that with the arrival of Sancho and Varane the team could be challenging because the talent was there. Not winning the title but at least be among the top 4. The arrival of CR was welcome by most fans including me. I was hoping like many of us that he would like Cantona be a catalyst and an example to our young strikers. He’s not done that and I would argue that the current manager is no better than Ole and CR has very little respect for him either. Being the only striker in the absence of greenwood and Cavani hasn’t helped either.

That’s why I can’t wait for a top permanent manager to be appointed who can galvanise the undoubted talent we have and get team spirit back again. Because Rangnick as I said very early on is not good enough, even as an interim.
