Reading through today's club financials it is clear that the club is in a worse shape than many imagined - and the mid to short term prospects are for it to get worse before it gets better, which of course means that we can't sign players so our play gets worse while fat ****s like casimero sit laughing all the way to the bank on £300k plus per month.

I thought I'd seen the last of this **** having watched the club sink under O'Farrel and Docherty but no, here we go again

It’s fascinating reading Chief’s impassioned defence of Amorim. I don’t get it!

And to make matters worse, blaming players that are effectively picked by a manager that apparently is not at fault is not exactly a coherent critique. For example, if Dalot is indeed so bad, why is Amorim playing him on the left? Why bring in a new natural left sided player, only to persist with Dalot in Dorgu’s natural position? I won’t even belabour the fact that the formation that he is insisting with is evidently not working in the Premier League. Just fkin rtded sht that shouldn’t be happening on the pitch.

Amorim is doing everything he can to turn football into a rocket science. If he refuses to change his perspective and execution of on field matters, nothing will change with this team especially given how thin we are on resources. We are kinda fked!
 
I must have missed how brilliant it all was before Amorim turned up.

When YOU were calling for the previous manager to be sacked.

Yes, I did! The club should have got rid of ETH at the end of the season. Unfortunately, it got dragged out.

Regardless, is there anyone that does not cringe whenever they hear Amorim complain about how hard his life is? He’s paid brilliantly to provide solutions. Instead talks in riddles about how hard the job is.

His life/job is hard.
He is working under very restrictive financies with a disparate squad (complete with multiple injuries) whilst trying to instill a new system into the players (one that he believes in and has prooved works in his last team).

If (and that's a big IF) he manages to get some players in during the summer window and hopefully gets a few back from injury but nothing improves then we can judge him, until then i will trust him.

As a personal opinion, i have seen a bit of improvement in the players understanding the last couple of games and we have started to create decent chances, the biggest problem is we have nobody to convert those chances into goals.

As as been said before Zirkzee is not a striker (more of a No 10) and for some reason Rasmus is failing even though his movement/positioning is quite good.

Stop ****ing whinging and get behind the manager and team, let's see what a bit of patience can do.

It's pretty disgraceful that any fan worthy of the name wouldn't.

The obvious difference between Amorim and ten Hag is four windows and half a billion spent on players, whereas Amorim has been here three ****ing months.

But do I really need to say this? Really?!

You’re right, Chief! Let’s spend another £1bn. Then we can make proper judgement.

I remember you making the same stupid argument for ETH. “He needs his players”. “These are not his players”. “We just need a No 9”. These were ideas thrown around with nothing to show for it after all the transfers were made.

That idea is almost bankrupting the club. It is the manager’s job to make it work with players at his disposal. The idea to persistently think that buying new players will solve structural problems is what leads to extreme waste and peril for the club.
 
From today's Telegraph - how Liverpool went about selecting their new manager - quite telling....

Richard Hughes, the new Liverpool sporting director, went to Lisbon to meet Ruben Amorim – and for a long time it was Amorim who felt like the leading contender although it was never clear. Privately, his inflexibility about the system he played raised concerns. Liverpool eventually settled upon Arne Slot as the best option for the squad that was at their disposal.

Sometimes you need to be a little flexible about things ....

Bingo!!

The foolishness about playing one system and insisting he would never change it no matter what was a massive red flag.

Chief has also posted that Amorim should not go to the convention 4 at the back because previous United managers failed using it. Again, another broad umbrella when in reality most managers in the league play with conventional 4 at the back.

Inflexibility is the enemy of progress!

A fair try? So you think 24 games is not enough to try out a new system? Seriously brah?!

Listen, I’m not against a new system. But if the so-called new system is proving to be problematic, why insist with it? Isn’t that just pure ego-trip, or worse, lack of plan B?

Fkin bs!!

Give the man the ultimate credit where credit is due. He inherited what many deemed an aging team. Several players running out of contracts. He oversaw a massive shift from Klopp’s way of playing to a more disciplined team effort. And he did it without a recognized No 9. I forgot to add that he did not make a single signing. He fully took the team as his own team. No bs excuses!

Do we really think Amorim would be winning the league with the same Liverpool team? Not even Klopp would be winning this year with that team.

He didn't walk in - he was chosen over Amorin who was rejected by the fenway bods because of his determination to play a system that Liverpool did not think suited their squad. We, on the other hand, thought it might be a good idea to bring him in and then have to change the entire squad to suit that style of play - just at the same moment when we don't have money for hot dinners for staff at OT never mind the £300m it will cost us to buy the 'right' players.

I think I prefer the Liverpool business model..

We probably heard 3-4-3 and opened the wallets. No follow on questions around how the current squad would suit the formation or what the alternative formation would be. It has effectively led to complete waste of money and what is largely inconsequential cuts of lifelong employees at the club. Waste, waste, and more waste due to horrible decision making process.

I dont get why Man United see trimming down ground staff as a viable money saving option, one of your senior players probably earns more in a week than 5 ground staff members annual wages combined. Selling just one of your dead wood players would make you more money than sacking probably all your non pitch touching staff.
