It would be an impossible task for any manager to assimilate so many new players into a squad and expect success. If true, this would have to be at least a three window project at least.

What happens if our bluff is called and someone puts in an 'acceptable' offer for Fernandes. Or Martinez?

Do we then sell? Those two should also be on the not for sale list.

They may well be testing the water but there is no actual way we would sell all of our players bar those three named.

To go (for acceptable money) and not all at once -
Rashford
Antony
Sancho
Mount
Casimero
Mc T
Lindelof
Varane
Eriksen
AWB
Heaton
Malacia.......

Going anyway -
Martial
Greenwood
VDB
Evans

I think Mount should be given a decent chance. And I agree with Chief that Martinez and Bruno should make the cut. But if Bruno stays, should he really be the captain? Martinez would be a better choice.

To me, the ones that definitely stay are;

Mainoo
Dalot
Garnacho
Fernandes
Martinez
Maguire
Shaw
Hojlund
Onana
Mount

Personally, I'd also keep Casemiro, Antony and Diallo, possibly McTominay. That's 14 players, plus all those coming through the academy and 2 back up keepers.

So, we'd need to buy a right back, a left back, a centre half, centre midfield (x2?) a striker and another wide forward.

We won't be buying 6+ players in one window so it's obvious that not as many will actually leave. Great idea in principle, in practice it ain't happening.

All this talk of Sancho coming back because he's had one half decent game is ****ing bizarre, to be absolutely honest.

I would 100% rather keep and develop Antony than have that spoofer back.

Ahh usual ABU bollox tbh. How about actually judging him on his time with us? What a novel idea.

Btw we're 6 points off Spuds with 4 games to go. Can we leapfrog them to 5th and a Europy spot? Probably easier than trying to win the Cup final to do it.

Antony is improving and nobody could ever criticise his work rate or effort, the same can't be said for Sancho.
I would quite like to see Antony given a fair run of games on the left wing to see what he can do there.

If City were to win the FA cup, I think that EL place then goes to sixth. So, sixth place and being finalist will get it.

It would indeed be good to just get 5th though. If only to chuckle at the inexplicable idea of awarding Angebollocks manager of the season because he won a few games.

Going back to this, I'm starting to wonder if this was such a great idea, just singling out the three youngsters.

It wouldn't take much now to tempt Fernandes or Martinez away, and both of them should have been on that list. They probably think **** it, we're not wanted anyway.

The rest, well fair enough to know they are far from indispensable.

ETH needed to have done this in the middle of Antony’s first season when it was clear that the tricks of cutting back were simply not working. Antony was far too predictable which made it easy to defend against him on the right. If the story about Olise is true, he’d be a major upgrade on the right due to his dynamism to take on players, speed, and ability to provide solid crosses under pressure.
