Come on get relaistic. Not even Man City wiht the money they have in the Championship could attract the players you think you are 'deserving' of. In OUR Nigel we trust. Walshy would be able to spend your money wisely.
We are realistic, but when something like that pops up on your official site there is bound to be rumours. Of course we don't expect to sign him but you have to say that the link is strange..
The link is very strange, but then when you go off of it it's nowhere to be found on the website, like on the news section or anything. Where did it come from?
Someone found it :S Dont know myself. There was a guy on 606 who said that we were after him, (as a joke, I hope) Then someone typed in 'Leicester City Klose' and found it.
There shouldn't be rumours, if your lot new emergency loan rules, they'd know you can only sign English players during this window.
You've lost me. Would our expectations rise if we were taken over by someone with less money than our current owner? Probably not.
Thos PremierTV sites are quite easy to hack, it's been done on our OWS before where some player we were linked with appeared in the profiles section as though he was our player. Oh and Andy King, why do you keep going on about your Thai owners being so much richer than the Allams? I believe the Allams actually have more money (for what it's worth) but your lot are just willing to throw more at promotion this year, whereas ours are following the ideal model for a growing championship club to achieve promotion in the following few seasons. I know which I'd rather have. As for Aaron McLean, he scored a beauty at the weekend and he's forged a nice partnership with Fryatt. Peterborough fans rate him as one of their best ever strikers. His only weakness I would say is that in home games he looks totally out of place with our game plan, probably backed up by the fact that all of his goals have come away from home.
i've actually ended up reading quite a lot of leicester forums this year - what with pearson, fryatt, hobbs etc. and to be fair, the majority of fans appear quite realistic and decent. clearly they are going to get a tad over-excited with their recent big name signings but some do well to remain grounded.
I didn't know you had wealthy owners, I apologise, I didn't read your post. But still, its not like they are spending it, when that happens then expectations will be risen.
for what its worth we've not seen a great deal of hobbs yet but i think we may see a bit more in the coming weeks. i wouldn't be too surprised we'll get him permanently in the summer although hasn't sven said he'll definitely be going back to leicester if they don't go up?
Yeah, Hobbs said himself he wants to come back and fight for a place. He is a steady player and I hope he gets on alright. I think it'll be the both of us slugging it out next season for the title.
Andy, if you read back on the Club's Web Site, and, The Hull Daily Fail, you will see that since the end of last year, the Allam family have spent ã40+ million on the Club. so far
They are spending it, but they're spending it wisely, not throwing it all on big players. We're signing young talent from the big teams, such as cameron stewart from utd, a bargain at 300k, and definitley one to watch out for in the future. We got another bargain in James Chester, again at 300k (i think?) who has been solid since we signed him. This coupled with some clever loans, we've been doing some good business. You don't have to throw loads of money at average players to build a decent squad, i think our manager is being very clever with what he's done so far, and we'll be ready to push for automatic promotion next season with a young, hungry squad, without money problems! And as sagegee says, they have already spent a lot of money settling our debts!
Should be a good one next year, us 2 sides, the 3 relegated ones (assuming they don't have financial problems a la Portsmouth and us) and also Cardiff if they don't go up will be battling it out at the top. I think the Championship is exceptionally weak this year. Leeds and Norwich each have a good striker and that's got them in the play-offs, you've never heard of the rest of their squads and even more so for Swansea. Even QPR don't have a team full of stars. Next year will be a lot harder and there will be a lot more quality players from the teams coming down. Hopefully our sides will adjust to this and be able to compete too, as our squads have more quality than those at the top this year IMO.
again, to be fair to the leicester fans, i think most of them would say its the clever loans who have been the better signings. kyle naughton has been as good a piece of business by anybody in this league. ben mee looks a player, too.
Yeah i appreciate that, but then, they had to pay a loan fee for yakubu didn't they? And i didn't say they hadn't made clever loans either. But all this mystery with Sven promising a big star player signing, does make you wonder how much money are they prepared to throw at it? And what will they do if they don't go up?
We're already discussing a permanent deal for Hobbs(along with Gerrard and Evans), confirmed by our gaffer in the local rag this morning.
