I don't think Lascelles needs to get further up. he can stay back as cover. He's **** at passing and is ****ing knackered if he has to run more than 18 yards anyway. Lewis is more attack minded than defence minded, Howe will need to drill him and ASM into being able to cover one another's arses.

Ritchie on the right to whip in crosses from deep, Manq covering the running on the right.

My major concern is Longstaff. He's coasting games TRYING to look like he's busy without doing anything. He's like a butterfly trying to land on a flower when iy comes to pressing. he starts to go for one then changes his mind before they've even released the ball.

Back in the dressing room aye. He's ****e and shouldn't be anywhere near the team

I agree mate. I just can't see too many changes at once. A change of formation and this mind blowing cosmic idea of pass and move will do for me.

On a different note. I noticed NUFC had scouts at Cochrane Park this morning for the kids football. First time I've noticed it.

I think we will almost certainly go either 4231 or 433 and I’d be amazed if Lewis doesn’t start at left back.

He’s not good enough, but the best we have right now. For me this is a priority Jan signing (Shaw from Man U would be my choice here, on loan) because the best role for Max is LW and he needs someone solid and capable behind him.
Shaw likes to get forward to much doesn’t he not. Will expose us on that left side.

Having said that if we do go 4-2-3-1 then the two dm can slot back.

He's better on the left but believes himself that he is a number 10.

Yeah I think right side or up top he's wasted, but if we get fwd more with other attacking players giving the oppositions defence a few other things to worry about he'll shine more imo

I think he'll go 4-4-2

I reckon Darlow will be in goal due to Dubs being away
Lewis at LWB
Schar and Lascelles at the back as can't see him being ****y to Lascelles on match day 1
Manq at RWB
A midfield 4 of ASM on the left, willock and Longstaff in the centre and Ritchie back on the right
Joelinton and Wilson up top.

Don't agree with it but can't see too many changes just yet.

Not a ****ing chance, that’s a horrendous line up.

I believe on the left his choices are limited, he needs to cut inside and it makes his mind up for him. I feel more centrally there is more hesitation from his moves as he weighs the options up. It's just not quite as natural for him.

Lewis should play, and, if he's not up to it, play Manquillo there. I believe he has covered there before. Dummett would suffice but I believe he has a long term injury. January comes and we get someone in (Kieron Trippier on the right please).

Shelvey and Clark? You'd drop Lacselles and keep Clark? What are you smoking, snorting and injecting simultaneously? Don't care if a defender has no feet as opposed to Clarks left you can't be serious?

I'd go with:
Dubz
Manq - Schar - Fede - Lewis
-------------Hayden
-------Willock - Miggy
Murphy/Joe ------------- ASM
--------------Wilson

Miggy will do the running for St Max on the left and give him a freer role and also help support Lewis defensively...
