oh it is a great name! is it Arthur Conan Doyle you are referring to as the Pompey?
That's right. Not sure if was actually playing for them at the same time he was writing the Holmes stories but he certainly did play (in goal) for them.

Great programme..always watch it twice to get the most from it. Wish the series weren't so short. Benedict is playing a villain in the next Startrek film...British actors are always the villains aren't they?
good god alive i never realised that! thankfully we have Moffat whose given it a great update so its nothing like the books but it is at the same time
They've already announced that the next series of Sherlock is next year...yes, 2013!!
Don't forget Mark Gatiss's input as well. He wrote a lot of the League of Gentleman scripts and you can see some of the influences in Sherlock. He also plays Mycroft.
Will it get time on any other channel?

He didn't actually play for PFC but some other outfit down there.

I think you're right. The club he played for was Portsmouth AFC. Portsmouth FC were formed later.

Building on a point that CBK raised the other day about the disgraceful decision to play "We Will Rock You" before the Leicester game, I was thinking that instead they should play some disgusting, generic, over-Americanised punk-rock to make Tadanari feel at home.

Actually he did play for PFC ..............Using an alias..........Something like Will smith or some such.......I am surprised our Pompey friends hadn't informed you of this little piece of history.
