You named convicted killers, I ask again, what proof do you have she killed anyone?

Read the initial reply mate. I said by saying that if we supposedly failed those who made a terrible decision, that can then be used as an excuse for all types people who’ve made terrible decisions, so as those killers, along with rapists, molesters other murderers and treason - the latter which she’s most certainly guilty of. There’s are things that for me, cannot be forgiven.

I am often told that Islam is one great big "happy family" ,
where the creed trumps mere trivialities such as nation states.

Therefore I assume that there are myriad Islamic-based nations
who will welcome their fallen "sister" into their national fold.

So again, no problem (even if the Nederlands refuse to take her) .

So on that basis, should we take fallen Protestant terrorists and pay for them to live here?

No you said they would take responsibility for her because you’re a Muslim scholar and you know how the various Muslim states you listed feel about embracing ISIS supporters.

Nope.

I say they would do so not because I am (or need to be) a Muslim
"scholar" , but because of what I remember from my O-level in
Religious Studies, and the countless years since then of all the
good things I learnt / have been told about the great religion that is
Islam.

It feels me with joy that such a religion and nations exist who
would stand by the girl in spite of her current failings, when her
nation of birth would leave her to rot or attempt to prosecute her
for treason.

Was ISIS mentioned in your O Level religious studies course?

The UK operates a version of Protestant Christianity that means such
things would not be tolerated. Sad to say we don't have the higher
moral/tolerant virtues of religions such as Islam, but there you go.

I would never excuse people. I just look at what has she done wrong, firstly she joined a terrorist organisation, that in itself is a criminal offence. However, I also believe in reality we shouldn't tell people how to think and 15 year old kids are very impressionable and very vulnerable people. We can never predict how people will react when they see their faith or beliefs being attacked via internet films that she admitted to accessing. Also without getting political, I still feel today that Blair should be held on war criminal charges, but we all know it will never happen, not in my lifetime anyway. I've named in this thread at least 10 examples where children were radicalised, will that ever be dealt with, no. Yet we expect a 19 year old to give us all the answers, smoke and mirrors to cover up the failings of the education system, authorities, parents and the government. Even today the Labour party is getting ripped apart by claims of anti-semetic behaviours, that's in the very corridors of our power. Yet we want to lynch a 19 year old with a new born, because for some strange reasons, it makes certain people of this country feel better.

Perhaps with your great understanding of Muslims and Muslim countries is their any chance any of those countries would ensure her a free house/flat and living money and free schooling for one of their own?

One of the exam questions I answered was about whether
killing could be justified under the auspices of war, requiring citing
scripture from various religions to support/contest the claim.

So for Islam I discussed the edicts of murder and those of jihad.
In 1983 when the muslim world was affected by the Israel-Lebanon
and Iran-Iraq conflicts.

Is that close enough ??

I think that's a bit of a cop-out to suggest "we failed them" mate, that can be used for every single atrocious act that's been committed on this soil or those from this soil. Did we fail the Bulger killers? Did we fail the Lawrence killers? Did we fail the numerous child molesters, rapists and murderers? Unfortunately, there are people on this planet, not just Britain, who are wired differently or choose to make horrendous choices. Treason is most certainly one of them. We can look for excuses for Begum but she was living in in a fantastic country with a family (and friends) who no doubt loved/s her, she chose to leave all that behind to join a cause/ organisation of inflicting terror and pain on our country and others. "We" never failed her, she failed her country.

Yes, they were sexually abused by adults from a young age, but you cannot name rape victims in newspapers etc, so the media could not reveal how they had been abused.

You can't report it even now I think. So people think they are monsters, they were kids who had suffered abuse themselves

If they were versed in basic Buddhism, they would have
"right speech" in the forefront of their minds.

Oops, better be careful here (I might be accused of being /
mistaken for a Buddhist "scholar" ) .

Not really no. It gives no insight into how you have such a definitive understanding of how Muslim states (and Muslims in general) view people who have joined ISIS.

Only if someone was taking the piss out of you.
