Lambert starts out on his journey back to Bristol, this time to face the red side of the City......

It's worth noting that any players who are deemed 'gas legends' no longer play for them either.

What a shower of ****, always living in the past <laugh>

Maynard is the more proven at this standard but that's not to say that Lambert isn't a useful striker aswell.

Now that he's acting professionally with a decent club instead of being a fat bastard with a **** club, Lambert is starting to fulfill his potential.

I strongly disagree with part of this statement, Lambert was never fat <ok>

How many legends do you have playing for you? If any of them are legends then your previous sides were worse than I remember <laugh>

Impossible to discuss football with someone who supports a team whose Manager calls a 2-0 defeat outstanding. Born sag that one <laugh>

EDIT: To Barnet, a 2-0 home defeat to Barnet. Oohh me sides <laugh>

As others have pointed out, it's not just the goals that make Lambert impressive, it's the combination of that and his wonderful work creating goals. Not only is he leading the Championship in goals scored (double Maynard's total), he also has six assists, placing fourth in the league (Maynard, by contrast, has one).

Like others, I think that they would make a good duo; Lambert's ability to lead the line and pick out players would make them a fairly fearsome frontline. But if you have to select one on the basis of this year's play, there can only be one answer.

difficult to judge without really knowing a great deal about maynard. what is certain though is lambert may be the best 1 million ever spent by a football club

Lambert is a magnificent player, I hate when people claim he's just a target man who's got a good shot. His all round play is 2nd to none and in a few years I'd love to see him play centre mid as his footballing brain is incredible and he can pick out a pass as well I've seen anyone in this division.

Maynard is quick and quite skillful, not a great goalscorer though.

Lambert is better at penalties and set pieces. He has size and presence, whereas Maynard has pace and awesome skills. I would love to see them partner each other. I was one of the few city fans on here who wanted us to sign him at AG when the gas were in self-distruct.

Impossible to pick one over the other - unless on a rainy day with a slow pitch against a team of cloggers then Lambert. On a dry day against a good footballing side then Maynard.

they might partner each other come January! <laugh>

Chris Gashead

As for Coppel, I believe Adomah and Cisse are Bristol City players last time I looked
