its pointless because he simply won't go to villa. if he went to liverpool its doubtful he would take any of our players as he would be looking for an even higher quality of player to compete for top four, so stop wetting your knickers at the thought we may be about to implode.
The only time they've got excited this season is when something dodgy has happened to us. Says it all really.
a sensible response form mcnally. immediate and to the point. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18057488
quit creaming yourself. this isn't colchester we're talking about!! if lambert states he wants to go to further his career he'd go with my blessing and an utterly preposterous fee, but he sure isn't going to improve his career at villa. if he went there that would be one of the most awful decisions in football. lambert doesn't make bad decisions...
Good to see he has come out sharply and stated this. You can imagine he really will do everything in his power to keep Lambert.
and check out what lambert said at the end of the statement... why do people not get this? this is how he ALWAYS reacts! during the presser where he refused to comment on his future he also said "Everything is a challenge. To get new lads in will be a challenge; to get them going again next season is a challenge because it'll be an even keel." hmm, really sounds like he is off, doesn't it...
But supers, last time contracts and fees were the last thing on lamberts mind! just taking a healthy interest in the latest goings on at Carrot Road. I wish we were talking about somebody taking our manager!
but to compare our situation with the one at colchester is beyond daft! lambert is not in this for money - he is in it for ambition.
Where's col_umike when you need him ? I'm sure he'd give us the true FACTS of what is going to happen !
If he is in it for ambition, then surely his future is away from Norwich? lets get it straight, would he want just the main aim to be just staying in the premiership for the next couple of seasons (your words, not mine) or having goals of first the top 10, then europe etc.
Lambert has been talking about next season ever since we were mathematically safe. About the need to bring in players/ pre season/ contracts and the need to push on next season. Sadly this has been much overlooked by the press and some of our fans. He is clearly planning and thinking about next season as Norwich manager. Also after the Spurs and Arsenal games he seemed genuinely excited (by his standards) as to how far this group and team could go
So now we are having to fight to keep him, feck me I wish they'd choose their words more carefully. It's not as if McNally has said, Paul is very happy at the club and wants to stay here. Anything can be interpreted negatively!!!!!!
Lambert instantly created the want to win atmosphere and attitude imo, hence why we have been successful. Villa have a decent spine Given Dunne Collins Delph Agbonlahor Bent. Supers, You say there financially bad but thats a good spine they bought N'Zogbia and Bent in the last 18 months probably hitting £30 million on two players. If Lerner said that than fair enough but probably will still have a bigger wage budget their than here. I don't want him to go but there is attractions to that job and I don't think you can write it off.
That's his job isn't it, of course that's what he is doing and has to be seen to be doing. None of what has been said means a fecking thing, the speculation is pointless
I wouldn't say that is a great spine for a team. But regarding money they have also sold the best performing players. Downing, Milner, Barry, Young etc doesn't scream ambition really
It is his job. But if as some people are implying he was planning on leaving would he bother? Really its all speculation and quite pointless. Only Lambert will know what he wants to do and he will divulge that information to no one until it is set in stone one way or another
But it's not a relegation spine is it. They've underacheived big time this year for the players they have. In my opinion Bent and Given could play for one of the top 6. Delph and Bannan exciting prospects. Your probably right money wise, I have no idea how financially Villa are run. Maybe I am just being pretty paranoid about losing him, but I just have a hunch that it's a challenge which Lambert may be attracted to. I hope your right!
